I got the DVD of American Carol yesterday and I think this movie is the MOST PRO-MILITARY movie I have ever seen.. I would give 2 thumbs up…
Just reading the plot of this movie on Wikipedia makes me cringe as to how ignorant modern conservatives are in the United States.
"Malone is then visited by General George S. Patton (Kelsey Grammer), who tries to make him rethink his view of America. Arguing that sometimes war is necessary for the greater cause, Patton shows him an alternate world where slavery still exists because Abraham Lincoln chose not to fight the Civil War. He also shows the filmmaker how British Prime Minister Chamberlain appeased Adolf Hitler."
Yeah, that is the most ridiculous idea for a film I've ever heard.
The wikipedia also tells me it is a "parody".
"Presented from a politically conservative perspective, the film is a parody of liberal filmmaker Michael Moore that "lampoons contemporary American culture, particularly Hollywood."
Yea, it's got a neocon thing all over it, but I guess they thought it was their time to take a crack at Liberals. But their box office performance shows that people didn't really care much for it.

Its a parody OF Michael Moore and his views
One letter makes all the difference
It's still touting it's own tilt on things. It's showing the idiocies of "anti-American" activities of Michael Moore and others. The whole film seems to slam against those who don't support America's efforts in the world. The "ghost" is supposed to show the error of his ways.
The main character is put out to look like an idiot who hates America too much for little things (another one of those "why should you be complaining about the United States when others are much worse" views), and this is put out by his blatant ignorance of his nephew's service overseas and his hatred of all things American (again, blasting those who they perceive to hate American "heritage").
Here's another part that comes after M's post
"Shaken but still unmoved, Malone is visited by the Angel of Death (Trace Adkins), who takes him to a future Los Angeles which has been taken over by radical Islamists. Victoria's Secret has switched to selling burkhas and the Hollywood Hills are emblazoned with verses from the Koran. Later, he is taken to the ruins of his hometown in Michigan, which has been destroyed by a nuclear bomb planted by Al Qaeda.
Later, Malone arrives at an anti-Fourth of July protest rally and publicly renounces his former views. The outraged protesters call him a traitor and charge the podium intending to murder him. He is rescued, however, by American servicemen and pulled inside of a country music concert where he is formally welcomed to "the real America". After barely preventing a terrorist bombing there..."
Clips: Trailers & Clips: An American Carol - Abolish (The only part that seemed funny to me was the two women talking about Nixon)
Trailers & Clips: An American Carol - Voting (The part where they were rotissering a chicken over a blasted car made me chuckle, the rest is obvious)
Trailers & Clips: An American Carol - Sailor (This is probably a direct parody of Michael Moore's staunch anti-War leanings, IE Soldiers against Guns and the radio blasting propaganda for students to protest Republican policies).
Trailers & Clips: An American Carol - Patton (He meets Patton. I only liked where Patton said "It's my trademark" in regards to the slapping).
Trailers & Clips: An American Carol - JFK (Parodies Liberals' obsession with JFK)
Really, they could have pulled off a "parody" of Michael Moore better, but this seems to be more or less a political platform rather than poking fun at Moore.
They even point out that the New York Post and the Washington Times didn't seem to care much for it, and they would be all for a movie which can bash a liberal around.
I haven't seen it though, I might pick it up just to see, but from what I've read it doesn't see too much like a comedy. To me it seems more along the lines of a film more suited to those who would like to see a "lost" Liberal realize their views that Muslims hate democracy and human rights, most "popular" folk are on a bandwagon of bashing Bush, and it's a crime to oppose the good fight.
I saw this in the theater and I just bought the DVD on amazon. Check it out!....
Okay seriously, I don't buy that the only people who support this movie are newly registered and have one post.
They're only here to promote the movie and annoy the hell out of me.
Meh I thought it was pretty good. That fat b@$tard Michael Moore had it coming.
