What do you all consider to be the best WWII movies? Two stipulations I must make are that it must involve the British (i.e. A bridge too far or Battle for Britain) and it must have battle scenes (i.e. no enigma). I am trying to enrich my DVD collection

BTW does anyoneknow any WW2 films that have large tank battles

The Eagle has landed is a good film. It takes place in England where some German soldiers try to kapture/kill Churchill. However, there are no British troops, only Americans stationed there... It's still a good film, however. (with Michael Cain, Robert Duvall, Donald Sutherland)

Bridge on the river Kwai, though there are no big battles. But it's a very good movie anyway :)

A Bridge Too Far was good. Only other Brit war film I can think of is The Battle of Brtain.

My first choice would be A Bridge Too Far and my second choice would be The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Zulu is about an outnumbered Welsh infantry group being outnumbered by 4000 Zulu warriors in 1879. Hardly about World War II.
