I didnt want to call the thread "Good War Movies" cuz I'd get a lot of people responding with "saving private ryan" and things of that ilk. What I basically mean when I ask for good battle movies I mean movies like Braveheart, The Messenger, Kingdom of Heaven, The Last Samurai, Gladiator...that kind of battle...anything Ancient or Medieval.

These are the ones I've seen: Gladiator Alexander The Last Samurai Kingdom of Heaven Braveheart The Messanger Troy King Arthur

What else is out there? I absolutely love movies of this type and sadly there arent too many really good ancient Roman/Greek war movies around with the exception of my highly anticipated 300

I've seen all those except for the messenger and Kingdom of Heaven, as much of a garbage movie Alexander was, I though the battle with the arab's was done pretty well, man that was a big battle. I'm aware that you are obviously awaiting the release of 300, so I won't mention that

Kingdom of Heaven is an ok movie, its Director's Cut is ten times better (the story makes a lot more sense).

Ben-Hur has a pretty good Roman-era chariot-race, but thats if you want to wait a good 2 1/2 hours to see it.

Umm... Ivanhoe? Oh, there's a good one about Joan of Arc, I'm not sure if it's called "Joan of Arc" though.

Yeah it's really too bad that Alexander wasnt that great...otherwise if done right that movie could've really been good. The battle in the desert was pretty amazing but I find that it's not worth sitting through such trash again to see one scene.

I forget where but I heard that someone was actually going to make ANOTHER Alexander movie at some point...not like a sequel but like some else's version of it.

Alexander the Great fought a lot of battles and conquered a lot of people...so why wouldnt a film about him be FILLED with raging battles and war? Instead we get to see a 3 hour comentary on his sexuality....

Pathfinder looks pretty good only problem is that Reaper from the Doom movie is the main character. (He's terrible). Kill Bill was Pretty good. You basically named all the ones i've seen...Equilibrium lots of cool camera angles and dual auto Baretta's (not even possible...Auto Baretttas) but who cares its awsome theres a cool sword fight at the end i highly reccomend it.

Just because Doom sucked, doesn't mean he sucked in it, i thought Karl Urban was awesome in Lord of the rings, I can't wait until Pathfinder I thought it looked really cool.
