homeworld 2 does have a very good plot for a movie. THere is a limited amount of characters, but you could easily add like some fighter pilot or ship captian so we get a soldier's perspective, or maybe the whole squad mechanic (they all die heroically except 1 or sumthing). I think you could make a movie about homeworld 2, but unfortunately it would probly still suck (you could only cover like 3 missions). on an unrelated topic, a HALO movie would rock.
There are coming out with a Halo movie, though it's been a while since I've heard anything about it.
I'm not looking forward to it, though, since movies based on games are usually disastrous. The other way around (games based on movies) is getting better in my opinion, though. The key is to take the game idea and make a new storyline around the idea. That way, you don't trap the player in a linear storyline. Anyway, that's off-topic.
I didn't make it!
Yes a homeworld movie does seem iffy mostly because of character development and because there is so much story to cover. so....how about a tv series?
Look at battlestar galactica and you will see a very similar type of story being told. Homeworld has a story that is unique enough and that has enough backstory already so that you could write characters in
