The first one was fun, I thought. However, the later ones were absolutely awful.

I enjoy horror films; I love getting my heart pounding in one way or another. Friday the 13th was nice, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't horrifyingly scary or anything.

Personally, I preferred things like Alien because that gives you so much the more helpless feeling that you can't really fight back, perfect horror material, even though that one kind of got linked to sci fi too . . .

The best horror film has to be:

The Shining, Alien, and The Descent (2005 version)

I love horror films. Nothing is more fun to me than scaring the crap out of myself with a good movie. Sadly, though, it's very hard to do, as movies very rarely scare me. However, I do enjoy some of the original horror movies just for the sake of nostalgia, along the lines of the original Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Hostel, however, was a very well-done film. Even I got rather creeped out by some parts, notably the removal of that girl's eyeball with scissors.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre was good too, the original and the remake.
