If you could pick and choose ANY starships, ANY technology from ANY sci fi (well, I'm thinking major sci fi shows like Star Trek/Stargate and movies like Star Wars, Predator etc...) and mix and macth, who would you choose?

Star Trek (was out WAY before Star Wars :p):

Feds Klingons Romulans Borg 8472 Other?

Star Wars

Galactic Republic (Pre-Imperial) Galactic Empire Galactic Republic (Post-Imperia) CIS Other?

Stargate SG-1/SGA

Tauri Asgard Goa'uld -What system lord would you have command your fleet? I would go with Anubis&Baal Tokra (they don't really have starships but have some cool bases) Ancients Wraith

Babylon 5

Terran Alliance Minbarri Shadow Other?

Earth Final Conflict

Human Jaridian Talon Other?

Other races/armies? That's about the limit of my sci fi knowledge; I've heard of Farscape and Andromeda but never really got into them, as such I consider them "minor" in the scheme of things.

For example, I thought it would be awesome to have a Soverign class starship refitted to be a frontline battleship (as they are still considered explorers) with ablative armor, asgard shields (on top of fed shields), asgard beam weapons and transporters, and the normal fed tech: phasers, photon/quantum torpedos plus phase cloak.

I know its overkill but hey, that's the point of this thread!

As for armies, the Soverign I described above would be the flagship of the fleet and I would combine it with Fed and Galactic Republic (pre-Imperial) tech.

mine are the borg, the federation, and the shadow. the shadow were very powerful in babylon 5 and the borg were one of the superpowers in star trek. i just picked federation for a filler although i do like the federation. all in all having the sci fi superpowers in a alliance would be lethal. btw u should of had the cylons on here from bsg and the vong from star wars.

Simple. Borg + Species 8472 + Galactic Empire. Borg - Ability to easily adapt to almost any weapon, thus becoming almost invincible. Species 8472 - They only species that seriously treatened the Borg. Few of their ships combined together can destroy the planet in few seconds. Galactic Empire - Great ships and Death Star. And maybe Darth Vader could be persuaded to help out. :D

Well the humans from Stargate should have pretty much the same military tactics as we do, augmented with alien technologies. So far as ground forces go, no sci-fi show or movie has ever come up with a plausible army with proper tactics, logistics or combined arms, so I'd have to say we'd need the Tau'ri for that - they're basically the real army/navy/airforce, of every single country on Earth if you want to get technical.

For a space navy I'd go with the Colonial fleet from the re-vamped BSG... because again, they're the only navy out of all of sci-fi with any kind of plausible tactics.

For the last I'd pick the Asgard, from Stargate again, purely to use their technology to bulk up the other two. A Colonial Battlestar armed with Asgard weapons, shields and engines, delivering a ground army equipped with modern combined arms tactics, logistics, and Asgard transportation technology and energy weapons, would be all you'd need.

I guess you didn't notice the OTHER option? :p

Sorry I forgot BSG; I don't watch it, too intense for me, and I don't like they're reimaginitve style(as far as the story goes, but I love the new ships and such). But feel free to match up with them as well!

And what chances would they have against the Borg? What would you do? Have Ferengi bribe them? :p
