Im intrested into reading a book of action and adventure with conflict involving magic and bandits and all that good stuff.

Myst series. there are three of them. Book of Atrus, Book of Ti'ana, and Book of D'ni Yes, they are tied into the game. Rand and Robyn Miller (creators of Myst) write them.

a bunch of ppl (halfelf, dwarf, magician and some human warriors) who must stop an evil warlord from destroying life as they kno it. spans several books. very very good series. redwall is medieval style, but with woodland creatures. it's also a good series. read the first one (REDWALL). And after that, you can read the series in whichever order you want.

I personally prefer the Shannara series by Terry Brooks... It has everything your looking for, ghostly advasaries, a council of Druids (some with science, others with majic), a lost bloodline, enchanted weapons, epic battles, a nation of elves, nation of dwarves, orcs, and humans, lots of peril and plot turns and twists... I read through the first 11 books in less than 4 years (most are trilogies). The books tend to be very descriptive, and it's been on the New York times best seller's list before... most people who read it love it... The first book is "The elfstones of Shannara" I believe, but he wrote a prequal called "The sword of Shannara" which is where i started...

Tried the Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan? It's rather large - 13 books and counting - but a very good read.

Conan The Barbarian by Robert E. Howard. You'll love it, that is, if you dont mind a little brutality.
