You need to get out. Now. Heck yes I'll see King Kong, since I'm a sucker for movies that send people into the unknown.

Yes, however one thing I don't understand about this movie (this nor past) - They find an island with all sorts on there, and out of everything they decide to take a big gorilla home - noting that they have a choice of giant spiders and even dinosaurs.

They probaly thought Kong was the most easy to controle of all the animals. The rest were mostly killing machines that were too dangerous to try and put on a ship and go back with. Kong wasn't out to slaughter them, and thus was the one they thought they could lock up.

Besides, an uber-huge spider rampaging around Chicago wouldn't look cool. And dinosaurs have already been taken...

I am going to see it, but only because I'll get to see the X3 trailer on a huge movie screen ;)

The movie looks OK to me, but nothing too exciting. Some of the things (judging by the trailers) seem to be randomly thrown in like the gigantic cockroaches and the random tribes people.

pc gamerAre you going to watch king kong when its released?

Personally from the traliers and tv spots its think its going to be awesome,i think Peter Jackson did a hell of a good job with LOTR ,and WETA has done it again with the speacial effects, its just incredible. This is a remake though,so do you think it will follow the original films plot?.Its 3 hours long so i dont think its just going to be an all out action-movie.

Do you think we have an epic blockbuster here?

for those who havent seen the traliers ,its HERE

I wouldn't call it a re-make. The original Kong movie was made in the 30's and movies have changed so much since then. I think it's more of a modern re-telling of a classic story - so yeah, it'll follow the original films plot but there's no way it'll be a straight re-make. A lot will be different and you won't be able to compare the two and say which is better - over 70 years has set them apart.

Actually I heard it was a pretty direct remake. From what I heard, Peter Jackson has been infatuated with the original King Kong for a long time and it was one of the movies that made him want to go in the business. He wanted to do it before LOTR but didn't have enough sway in the industry at the time. There was one in the 70's that tried to change the story a little but I heard it wasn't that great. I think Jackson wants to bring back the original using modern effects. I think he also added some stuff that was supposed to be in the original but was deemed too scary for audiences at the time.
