So, my review of the first episode, without being spoiler:
Very much on par with the best of Series X, better than VII, VIII and Back to Earth, but still not quite Series III-VI level of good. You can see the attempts to re-capture that era, though, and it does help, it's just the acting can be a little Shatner-esque at times, which was never the case back then.
But as the series goes on they may settle in, overall I very much enjoyed it, worth watching!
Second episode out today on UKTV play, was broadcast last night on Dave.
Anyone else seen it yet and thoughts?
I've watched episodes one and two now.
A lot of the jokes in the first were predictable; if only because I've seen enough Red Dwarf to expect the Expectation vs. Reality jokes. A large plot point was pretty much ripped out of X.
Second episode was far better, definitely has the feeling of the older series. I feel like the episodes are a bit short, however - the second in particular - there were several bits that could have been lengthened, and the end, well, it just ended.
The third episode I've now seen and I thought it was easily the strongest of the three.
You'll have to watch that and let me know what you think Darkclone. It reminded me a lot of Quarantine from Series V.
