I saw the preview for this film when I went to see 28 Weeks Later and I must say...it actually looks 300x better then what Apocalypse was and looked like. I kinda like the whole western meets zombie movie look to it plus the zombies move out of the shadows - it looked like Mad Max meets The Hills Have Eyes meets Resident Evil...anyone else seen the trailer?

If not here is a link to it: Sony Pictures - Resident Evil: Extinction - Trailer

If the previous two movies are any indication, this movie will be worthless. P Anderson hasn't done a tolerable movie since Event Horizon. which I though was actually pretty entertaining. The universe that he's moved the series into, the post-apocalyptica desert et cetera, might have potential. But the writing certainly won't match the atmosphere (if atmosphere is present in the movie.)

i'm not expecting anything good. re1 was decent, re2 was crap. and re3 is set in the desert. zombies, in the desert. they should have, i don't know, stuck to the source material.

I can't wait for the third installation. I am one of the few people that actually has high hopes for the third. I admit the second one was a tad.. boring. And how they went straight to the nemesis was sort of disappointing. But I really think after seeing what they did wrong with the second they will be able to pull out a pretty decent movie.

I love how they make the previews, where at first you think its an actual commercial . I dont know what to make of this, the only part i really liked was how umbrella controlled everything, but i think this one will end up being based too much on action and stunts like the second one was. Do you think this movie will hint at the plotline of RE5? Cause RE5 Is set in a dessert too. I Also heard that Alice (aka milla jovovich) was exposed to be an antagonist in this one? Because i recall something about When Umbrella did experiments on her in the second one.

That's so true...the first one was actually kind of good but the second was straight up horrible

Yeah - at the end of the 2nd movie they do something to her again but she escapes...it would be a nice twist if she was kinda a bad guy in this movie.

I like the 2nd slightly better than the first, but the 3rd's trailer, which I saw months ago, really disapointed me. Nothing like the real RE
