The current discussion on the T2 movie (http://forums.filefront.com/entertainment/401469-transformers-2-making-good-sequel-i-e-moving-goiing-rad.html) is more for those who haven't yet seen Revenge of the Fallen. This thread, is for those that have. I have just got back from watching the film, and should say that it was outstanding, but it wasn't as good as it could have been. Without giving too much away, none of the new Autobots were ever explained. You never got the 'introduction' between them, Sam and co. I thought that was a valid point, which they missed out. I also didn't like how so many Decepticons, instead of fighting, were running away from battle. Not to mention, a fair amount of them got their arse handed to them pretty quick. The first fight scene pretty much saw the fall of two of them with somewhat ease. These are suppose to be mean fighting machines, yet they're getting owned left right and center. Saying that, the humour in the film was top notch, I really can't fault it. Some of the lines from our friends had the audience laughing a fair bit; I'd even go as far to say that there was more humour in this film, than there was in the first. and as always, there were things come the end of the film, which they simply forgot to mention and / or include. What happened to various Bots for example. ... and yeah, they've easily left it open for a third one. I've heard Paramount want it in 2011, Mr Bay wants a rest, and would like the film to be going for 2012, so we shall see what happens there.

I don't get how anyone could say the humor in this film was top notch. The vast majority of the jokes I found to be at the level of movies like Meet the Spartans. And the part where Sam's mom accidentally got high made me feel like I was watching a bad episode of That 70's Show. Then there was Skids and Mudflap. I don't think I've ever loathed any characters more since Jar Jar Binks. They were annoying, unfunny and seemed to be thought up by a member of the KKK (Jive talkin' monkey-like robots with gold teeth who can't read...hmmmmmm). As for the action scenes: yeah, some were pretty exciting, but others were such noisy, incomprehensible clusterfucks that they literally gave me a headache. The latter could probably be replicated by watch The World's wildest car wrecks on a shaking TV while someone yells in your ear. Michael Bay also must have heard the complaints about there being too many humans, so he added more robots. Guess what, Bay? More robots doesn't mean you put a million robots in and have them all have two seconds of screen time while you give the human characters nobody cares about as much screen time as ever. Robots good. Humans bad. Now for the parts that I liked. The forest battle: That was intense, well executed and edge of your seat exciting with the perfect blend of effects, action and locale. The Megatron/Starscream thing: Although I don't think they explored this as much as they could have, it was great to see a classic Transformers theme played out in live action on the big screen. Wheelie: Although the part with the Megan Fox humping was agonizing, I found this character amusing. Kind of like a cross between Steve Buscemi and Joe Pesci in robot form. Jetfire: Although this strayed from the character big-time and just seemed thrown in there as a plot device, I liked the idea of a geriatric robot and found his design (especially the cane) pretty cool. Ravage: He was just plain badass. Verdict: There were things I absolutely loved in this movie and things that I found completely excruciating. The plot was uneven and poorly constructed, but had some good ideas. Some of the action was exhilarating and some of it was just plain annoying. Some of the characters I liked, and some I wished to die the most horrific death possible. For a numerical score, I'd give it about a five on a scale of one to ten.

I'd have to agree here. Sideways and Jolt (the two new Autobots) hardly got any screen time at all. Heck, I think Jolt was only in the movie pretty much at the end when he helped Optimus. After all the hype about him, we practically saw... nothing. Also, for anyone that has actually seen the film:

Did anyone else wonder why they even bothered with Soundwave? All he did throughout the entire movie is sit up in space, attached to some satellite. Sure he is all clued up in that regard, but would have been nice to see him actually come down to Earth, and actually fight...

Im pretty sure it was due to the fact that he was giving intelligence info out in real time to the rest of the deceptions, perhaps he will resume in the same position in the next movie.

Intelligence is one thing, but cowaring out of the entire battle is something else. I hope he takes on more of a... casual role in the next film. Sports car or something...

i saw the movie and i really like all the actions but they left a lot of stuff out like. who the hell were those 3 motorcycles autobots. i never really heard their names and they're never explained and whos that one guy who looks like jazz? is he some sort of upgrade jazz? also whats up with the military. "most secure base in the world!!!!" uh oh some metalic tiger, dog thingy who deploys this skinny raptor thing with a balloon head that still seems to be invisible? also great work on watching megatron. speaking of which that one guy who gave away all that info. WHY DID HE DO THAT?!?! he might as well have said that he wore pink underwear... other things were during the final battle like all those minion decepticons who for some reason all look like megatron. all the time i kept thinking was, is that megatron? also that college profesor... yeah i dont want to say much about him... i didnt mind those 2 guys what was it... mudflap and skid... w/e but i liked those guys. i dont know why, mainly it was some stupid brotherly love or something retarded like that. and my final complaint was that iron hide and ratchet didnt seem that important. i mean they played a huge roll in the first. all ratchet does is fire some machine gun. but besides all that i really like the actions scenes and it was pretty funny to watch... im easily amused. you also have to like megans fox's ass in your face. PS: i also forgot 2 more things. when they are in the meuseum an they somehow teleport to an airfield by walking out of the back door. also, why did they show that one guy taking his pants off... i mean i really didnt need to see that...

The guy that looked like Jazz was Sideswipe. The motorcycles were Arcee, Chromia, and the third one is supposedly Elita One (never heard name, didn't check credits) None of the Decepticon Protoforms in the final battle looked like Megatron, I don't know what you're talking about. Ironhide and Ratchet didn't have major roles in the first movie, either.

Nope, thats Sideswipe another Autobot.

also whats up with the military. "most secure base in the world!!!!" uh oh some metalic tiger, dog thingy who deploys this skinny raptor thing with a balloon head that still seems to be invisible? also great work on watching megatron.

Well, they were watching it, its just that raptor thing was just a mass of steelballs untill to formed, and the Tiger thing could probably tell where most of the sensor where.

speaking of which that one guy who gave away all that info. WHY DID HE DO THAT?!?! he might as well have said that he wore pink underwear...

How was he supposed to know that Soundwave had hacked their communications? Answer me that.

other things were during the final battle like all those minion decepticons who for some reason all look like megatron. all the time i kept thinking was, is that megatron?

If you note, they are all darker colors and not as beefy as Megatron.

also that college profesor... yeah i dont want to say much about him...

ITS DWIGHT SCHRUTE! OMG SOMEONE CALL JIM WE NEED TO PRANK HIM!

i didnt mind those 2 guys what was it... mudflap and skid... w/e but i liked those guys. i dont know why, mainly it was some stupid brotherly love or something retarded like that.

Well It made sense, Brothers always fight :P

and my final complaint was that iron hide and ratchet didnt seem that important. i mean they played a huge roll in the first. all ratchet does is fire some machine gun.

I got nothing...

but besides all that i really like the actions scenes and it was pretty funny to watch... im easily amused. you also have to like megans fox's ass in your face.

Oh ya, I loved that :)

PS: i also forgot 2 more things. when they are in the meuseum an they somehow teleport to an airfield by walking out of the back door.

The airfield is behind the Building, if you pay attention, Jetfire hits the door down and the airfield is through the door. In real life, i have no clue if thats there, but doesnt matter, in the movie it was there for a reason, so what eves.

also, why did they show that one guy taking his pants off... i mean i really didnt need to see that...

For Comic relief, and probably just more to shock us or something....

Since this is for people who saw the movie, I see no need for spoiler tags, just saying.

Me, I thought the movie was a near perfect blend of action, humor and story. I'm going to address a few things I heard, not just from people here, but period.

Firstly, whoever it was that said the fight scenes were harder to keep up with obviously didn't watch the first one. Me (being the nerd that I am) rewatched the first one the day before I went to see the second, and the first one had fight scenes that were much harder to keep up with, namely Bumblebee v. Barricade, the only thing you really saw was Bee fling him on those cables. Other than that, just blur. The fight scenes of the second were well coordinated, and because of the camera being further back from the action, you could actually see what was going on. The forest fight pit Optimus against unbelievable odds, and you could see the strain, triumph, and eevntual failure all as it happened. Also, he is kickass with dual swords. Also, Bumblebee fighting in the desert, best fight scene IMP, Bee tore his ass UP... flying knees and clean kicks were a few of the highlights.

Next, the humor was hit and miss. Skids and Mudflap were funny to me, but I could deal without the rest of the inuendos. I swear I thought this was a family movie, but all the dog humping was unnecessary, and that little Decepticon humping Megan Fox was annoying, and a little obsessive. I particularly found the "Under enemy scrotom" part hilarious, but Megan landing in that guys funzone didn't do it for me. The rest of the humor was alright, I could deal without all the sexual references though, please.

Megan Fox's ass was nice, but the real star of the movie was her rack, during the desert scenes of the movie, any guy who says they didn't take not to Megan when they were running, is obviously sterile.

And I didn't want to see that guys ass either. :moon:

I also think they should've formerly introduced the new Autobots too, but when I saw Optimus Sky Dive from a plane, transform mid fall, and utter "Autobots, I'm in pursuit," then transform back into truckmode on a highway, all was forgiven.

I think one thing this movie did lack was all the awesome combat transformations. That one Decepticon going through the building was nice, and Sideswipe was EPIC, but I wanted some more flowing Transformations like the last one: specifically Optimus Transforming on the highway simultaneously to doing a 180 degree turn, or Barricade quickly transforming into the Mustang to chase Bumblebee.

Overall, I LOVED this film, think it surpassed the first, and I will definitely see it another time in theaters before picking it up on BluRay.

Admiral_Antilles;4932310 Well, they were watching it, its just that raptor thing was just a mass of steelballs untill to formed, and the Tiger thing could probably tell where most of the sensor were.

but still, some security cameras around the place with armed gaurds patrolling the exterior and interior of complex could have made a big difference.

How was he supposed to know that Soundwave had hacked their communications? Answer me that.

ok well you got me there, but then again is it really neccesary to discuss the specific location. i mean if i have somethiing you want and you tap my phone when im talking to my mother i wont go "yeah i hid his wife in the pizza hut basement on 5th avenue in new york city" i'll just say something like "i hid her in a place he would never look"

If you note, they are all darker colors and not as beefy as Megatron.

well it was hard for me to see a difference since im really focused on giant robots kicking each other in the face.

I got nothing...

ok maybe not a huge roll but they certainly scored their own kills in the first.

For Comic relief, and probably just more to shock us or something....

well they shocked me alright.
