Recently, I, as well as many others, have discovered another gem to come out of HBO studios. This time, they teamed up with the BBC (just like with their other new show "Extras") to create ROME. It's a drama following life in Rome during the rise of Caesar. What makes this show unique is it covers all the aspects of life in Rome at the time, from the highest royalty such as Caesar and Pompeii, to the lowest soldiers. It really brings to life the city of Rome for the first time on television. The acting in the show, while mostly unheard of actors, is top notch. The many storylines will keep you intrigued, although it may take an episode or two just to meet all the characters. If you don't have HBO, I'm sure there are torrents availible for download. This show is really a must watch, and can be enjoyed by all. Just a quick warning: the show is extremely explicit, which would include graphic sex scenes, extreme violence (beheading and operations in detail) and language. To anyone that has seen this show, what did you think of the ending? I was a bit dissapointed with it, because I don't really see where the show could go from here. Discuss.
Extras was made solely by the BBC, but HBO have stamped their name on it for showing in the US. Same with Rome.
In Britain we're about five episodes in. It's pretty accurate, and pretty original. There haven't been many (if any) TV series charting life in Rome through act, so this is new.
The ending hasn't been shown here yet. Please wrap spoilers in [spoiler] tags. In addition, don't mention torrents here, legal or not.
