I've recently watched the first season of Rome and thought it's a great series. Very interesting characters and time-setting, although some important parts of Caesar's life were missing or altered and they didn't seem to have enough money to show the battles properly.
I thought the whole thing was good...had porn in it lol...didn't like the penis dude grossed me out then I wondered man I wish I never saw that thingy

Are you talking about the History channel series or the HBO series??
The HBO-one.
I saw it roughly at the same time the first series of Lost was on - I don't know if that was 2004 or 2005. It was amazing. I've not seen the second series, and I don't know if there will be one, but I think they said there would be.
It's a shame about the battles because the thing was bankrolled by HBO, and they did indeed get huge amounts of money to make the thing.
I love it. I found it by mistake one day (missed the first two episodes) and now I'm hooked.

At least they make up for the battles with a lot of historical accuracy and some of the best characters and dialogues I've seen in a long tine.
I also heard that there will be a second season, I guess without Verenus and Pollo though, which were my favourite characters.
