This movie didn't even compare to the first one. Lame story line. Lame charectars. Was just lacking that quality I found in Starship Troopers 1.
It's straight to video, did you expect anything else? :P
The fault for this lies entirely in the hands of the critics, though. Upon Starship Troopers' release, it was seen by the reviewers as a simple gorefest. Thanks to withering reviews, Troopers was seen as a failure. Now that we're all a bit more desensitised to gore, it's interesting to note that Troopers 1 is actually getting good reviews by the TV critics (it was one of two Films Of The Week in the Sunday Times not long ago)- the reviewers are finally able to see through the gore to the darkly humerous and well-thought-out film underneath. Hopefully they're now ashamed of themselves for being responsible for the tiny budget (and subsequent crapness) of Troopers 2.
god damn they messed up starship troopers really bad i mean, the first one was ok, but they really screwed this one up bad... they only used one of the original actors i think... didn't that one chick die in the first one though? i mean... damn.... did they have to make it so bloody? when she hacked off his head with that butchers knife.. godd god, we all were disgusted by it (us meaneing me and 4 other guys) dear god, that was a pointless and fu***d up movie.... well... it did have a naked chick...
Oh yeah, comment on the naked chick. Lmao.
I thourally enjoyed the first one.
I cringed and shuddered in horror at the first one.
I grew up reading Starship Troopers and wore out my first copy. When the movie came out it had little to do with the book. Where were the powered armor suits?
The animated series based on Starship Trooper was much more faithful to the book, actually had armored suits capable of moving on the bounce but still not as good as the books suits. If anyone ever playes Battletech the Clan Elemental suits were about the closest thing I have seen.
The animated series did have the skinnies too which was very cool.
I also loved that line before they dropped "Live forever Apes!"
I didn't even know that they made a sequel. They didn't do a good job of advertising it at all.
