Teaser Trailer:

I've always been interested in both the prehistoric and science fiction, and this seems to be a good stretch of both. Think it's scheduled to air May 2011.

The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction. In an effort to save the human race, scientists develop a portal allowing travel 85 million years back in time to prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. However, they are unaware that the colony is in the middle of a group of carnivorous dinosaurs.

My only two quibbles though, firstly I'm slightly baffled as to why these people chose a period roughly 85 million years into the past to survive. It seems these people didn't take into account the meteorite that is suppose to strike and wipe out all the Dinosaurs at some point in history. =p Should have joined the Mammoths and Sabre Tooth Cats instead?

The second quibble, for wanting to save themselves, and the planet, they're still driving around in vehicles which no doubt require petrol to use; and we all know how great petrol is to any given environment. :nodding:

Rumour has it, it's got $4 Million an episode, and is directed by Spielberg. One to watch I think.

When I saw the commercial for it... all I thought was... Holy shit, its Jurrasic Park!

I do want to see it though.

And the leader dude, reminds me of the Colonel from Avatar.

I was thinking that too. What's the bet he turns out to have a similar attitude to the 'natives'?

It looks pretty awesome. Anything with Speilberg attached to it is at least worth taking a look at. Does anyone know what time and day of the week it will be airing?

Not yet I'm afraid. All we know is May. If I'm right, the first two episodes are shown back to back in May, and then the rest of the first season is to be shown fall 2011, going into 2012.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, there was a Carnotaurus in that video? The one that 'ate the camera' near the end? That predator is from the late-Cretaceous if I'm right. That being said, we also clearly saw a Brachiosaurus too, and they're from the late-Jurassic, so I'm a bit perplexed by when they've actually gone back too.

The two Dinosaurs we saw in the video (assuming I'm right about the Carnotaurus) shouldn't have ever met.

Same actor indeed. I like the guy, excellent actor!

It probably is gonna be a long time before it shows up here. But it looks good! Still it has some major flaws like you said, but i expect that they explain it ;)

From the looks of the series those guys will manage to hunt the dinosaurs to extinction without the help of any meteorites :)

My concern wasn't specifically for the Dinosaurs, it was more for the people that had travelled back in time for a 'fresh start'. I'm also slightly baffled as to why (or how) a group of people who have invented the ability to travel back in time still use machine guns instead of lasers. :uhm:

But yeah, you have point made. :)

Spoiler: Show
BUMP

This show has started, was aired (in the US) Monday night; I watched it at home (in the UK) Tuesday afternoon. Was a two hour première (episodes one and two) of (I believe) thirteen.

Anyone else watch it, and if so, thoughts? I quite enjoyed it, love the fact that we've already got unsolved mysteries from the get-go.

Spoiler: Show
Am beginning to tire of these rebellious teenagers though. They had such a kid in Falling Skies, and now they've got one in this too, least from the perspective of the first two episodes.

Ya, I saw it on Monday.

I really did enjoy it, for both the entertainment perspective, and the mystery perspective... I mean those things by the falls, I was trying to rake my brain thinking them over.

The 6's are a huge mystery to me too, Something I cant wait to see come full circle.
