Remember the ending of Batman Begins? When Batman finds a card, which indicated there is a new villain dubbed, "The Joker" (Will be acted by Heath Ledger) . Now Christopher Nolan is making a sequel to the movie named The Dark Knight which is planned to be released in 2008.

I'm so damn excited.

I don't think that's an "official" promo post it's been lurking around for a long time, I mean since '05 and the joker on the poster obviously isn't Ledger. But nevertheless I am rather excited.

Heath Ledger playing The Joker? I hate that idea...but my question is I thought I heard something about how the guy who played Batman in Batman Begins will not being playing Batman in this one. Any truth to that?

Well here are the posters that were found on IMDb: You may be right, those are not official.

Yeah - probably not offical at all. Seeing as how you said you found them in IMDB and the links are for a poster website...plus I think no matter how descreet movie posters get they have to have those little quasi-credits at the bottom dont they?

Yet - i dont know. That Joker won doesnt look like Ledger at first but at the same time it does...it's in the eyes that I recognize him a lil bit.

Yup, that's for sure.

I was one of the few, it seemed, that didn't get the whole Batman Begins hype. Many named it the best Batman movie, and were very excited 'bout it. I wasn't. For some reason it didn't really get me, though I thought it was good. But just not that good.

Anyway, I wasn't too excited about Heath Ledger playing the Joker neither at first thought. But I do think he can pull it off. If he loses the 'pretty boy'-ness, which he probably can, I actually think he can make a very good Joker. Even though I wasn't caught up by the Batman Begins rage, I am pretty excited about this one. For starters, it's because Christopher Nolan is a gifted director. Secondly.. The Dark Knight is based on a Frank Miller comic! This could be awesome.

It really is the best Batman movie...the Tim Burton ones from back in the day were pretty good but the two others that followed it were crap...Batman Begins gave the whole thing a more real feel to it as opposed to the cartoony feel of the 4 original movies...

Especially if that IS him on that "poster" then I'd say he def looks the part of the Joker.

Yeah - that is a Frank Miller graphic novel but I dont think this movie is based on it...The Dark Knight Returns is about Batman disappearing for awhile and then coming back to help Gotham....in other words later down the road...we're still at the beginning here. Either way I think they just thought it was a cool title and it doesnt have any relation to the Frank Miller novel.

Maybe they chose Heath Ledger so the audience would sympathize the character.

Nah, I didn't feel it that way.

Hm, at first I thought they were basing it on his novel, but now I'm not so sure anymore. I've got to check it out. I think it'd be a smart move for them to do so though. I'd guess that would give a 'darker' feeling to Batman. For Batman Begins I think reality was the main goal, however IMO a Batman movie should have a dark atmosphere. I thought BB was lacking that.

The Tim Burton ones were better.

They had a better atmosphere, it was unexplainable...

It was my favorite portrayal of Batman, and Gotham City, aswell, maybe it was the lack of snow that just didn't catch me.

Either that or I just kept comparing it to the original 2, not that I didn't like it, though.

The sequel sounds nice, but theres a high chance they'll completely change the character of the Joker, the only thing that will remain is the laugh and paint, like they did with the Penguin in Batman Returns, though I'm not complaining.
