Well, apparently...with ABC having basically two shows about Aliens, Lost and Invasion. CBS has Threshold and NBC has Surface. Surface Threshold (which by the way has a midget which totally pwns.) Invasion Lost Personally, i always enjoy these kinds of shows, so i'll probably watch all of them. Your thoughts?

I only saw pieces of Lost last season, but I'll probably end up watching at least one of them as long as it doesn't interfere with Everwood, House or Law and Order SVU. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I hope there good but almost anything beats a reality show now a days.

Just did a check...Everwood would conflict with Surface, otherwise you are all good. :D

Pelican Petelost is about aliens?

 That's my question too. I saw the entire season, and I don't recall any aliens. There were strange happenings, but I'm not sure how that translates to alien involvement.

Well, not directly, but somewhat...remember Ethan? That guy was not human, although he appeared as a human. Plus, the people in the boat on the last episode? :Puzzled: Lost isn't directly about aliens, but remotely...something mysterious.

I remembered this quote when I saw your thread. This is by one of the creators or writers of Lost:

Acknowledging the bizarre elements, Lindelof was quick to point out: "This show isn't 'The X-Files.' Everything that happens to these characters is grounded to reality as we know it. Time and space are not bent."

http://www.lost-tv.com/2004_09_01_archive.shtml

However, what is and isn't grounded in reality is up for debate since a lot of the stuff that happened in the first season of Lost seemed pretty fantastical. I remember watching X-files when it first came out but I got tired of it because nothing was ever really resolved and I felt like the whole thing was just a run-around. I hope Lost doesn't turn out the same way.

Because at the end of each episode there was not the conclusion of the story of the show? X-files was a great show because everything lead up to the main plot focus without having every episode repeat itself.

I was referring more to overarching theme of the show regarding Mulder's (sp?) search for the truth about the aliens/his father/cancer man etc. These issues were usually brought up in the season finales but never really resolved or advanced in a meaningful way. If they eventually did answer those things in a coherent way then I had already stopped watching. The individual episodes were fine and some were very entertaining.
