Day_Man;4922585Let me get this straight. You're happy they kept Bay?
I am. In my opinion, he did a brilliant job with the first film, and I hope he has done a brilliant job with the second, and eventual third.
Day_Man;4922592I just can't get past the fact that it's two and a half hours. That kind of length is for movies with a plot and characters so that they have time to fully develop. Not movies that could easily double as expensive car commercials.
Probably a matter of opinion / perspective, but I thought the first movie had both a plot, and good storyline.
Day_Man;4922592I'm also not too happy with the job Bay did on the first movie. That scene where Bumblebee "pees" on an agent still haunts my dreams.
What was wrong with that scene? It added a bit of humour to the movie, I see nothing wrong with that.
gravy666;4922813Hopefully the second Transformers will be loads better...
I'm sure it will be if all the hype has worked.
I think its fine that ppl enjoy Transformers, just don't call them great movies. They are horrible, but entertaining.
I think they're good, and entertaining.
But they are great movies, thats the thing. They were superbly done.
:Agreed
they are great movies, but poor films... (supposed to not make sense)

A bit of a contradiction there, don't you think? Suffice to say, some people are going to like these movies the way they've been done, and others aren't. Sure there were parts of the first I wasn't too fond of, but all in all, I was quite impressed with it, and would say it was a damn fine movie. I expect the second one to also be a winner.

I really liked the first transformers simply because of the digital technology that was present throughout the entire film. I got exactly what I wanted out of Transformers. Sure.. there are a few points that I would change if I could (Mostly with Sector 7). I can totally forgive those spots because the effects team did a superb job... no one can deny that.

Anyone else hate Shiloh LeBeef and think he ruined the first movie? Or at least was a part of a larger piece of solidified suck?

I actually didn't mind him. I really didn't think most of the acting was all that bad, I think it was more the writing coming through.

I just felt the movie tried to appeal to to many people. It felt so "Disney," so safe, so clean. There was more emphasis on the characters than the giant robot war.

Yeah how dare they focus on story and characters and dismiss action scenes.

It's a fucking movie about giant robots. It's not supposed to focus on the stupid fucking goofy characters that everyone hates. Too much cheesy dialogue, not enough smashing. Too many humans, not enough robots.

Don't sell yourselves short. Just because it's a movie about giant fighting robots doesn't mean you deserve a shitty movie about giant fighting robots. I'm sure there could have been a movie (at 150 minutes long) with the same amount of explosions but with good story development, exposition and character arc. This movie would only have been worse if there was more action. Not necessarily worse if the robots had more screentime.

Look at The Dark Knight and Star Trek for summer block busters with plenty of action that doesn't make your dick go limp every time one of the characters speak.
