2 words: F*CKING HYPOCRITES!

The admins at YouTube used to get so much sh*t when TV shows were uploaded by users on YouTube. Now it seems, that they are fine with it since they have launched a free TV service on there!

This isn't going to help piracy issues either since programs exist that let you download YouTube videos to your computer in flv format. These could easily be changed to a different format and made into bootleg DVDs, sold on streets, which would not really help finanical situations for various broadcasting networks.

Because now they can make a profit out of it.

Only by ad revenue.

Otherwise, the shows are free to air, meaning that no money will be made through showing TV shows.

Never tried to watch user videos that were enventually silenced, removed, or force to audioswap because they contained music copywrited by Warner Music Group? I'm glad they struck a deal again with You-Tube.

I now about the shows now, and they even promote them on their main page from time to time. What is shocking is that they allow recording of WWF shows to be placed on the site by (I think) a non-affiliated person, and instead of being removed are promoted on the main site.

Did they do something new, or is it still a bunch of C-rate shows?

Sorry, but 90% of the shows on YT (legally) are crap. The only one that I watch that isn't offered by the networks online is Top Gear and that's only because 1) It's the best show on television and 2) We're like two seasons behind on BBC America.

And audioswap was just about the worst thing they could do, almost as bad as the "muting" of a video...I mean, why not just remove it completely?

Youtube is trying to compete with HULU which has TV shows with advertising.

I do not own a TV and have no complaints with watching TV shows on HULU or Youtube.
