So, there's this movie that just got released. Its called "Twilight", and it seems to be really popular.

So popular in fact, that my manager asked me to work late to help with the release. So popular that I must've personally sold 60 DVDs in a single hour.

So, just wondering, am I alone in having never actually heard of this movie?

It's a movied geared to 14 year old girls who like to dream about the perfect boy that will romance them and sweep them off their feet.

It's basically to movies what N*Sync was to music.

That's what I thought.

My girlfriend made me go see it with her, fortunately she didn't like it one bit; she's actually a fan of Anne Rice's vampires (Interview With The Vampire and Queen Of The Damned were made into movies) and thought it quite poor.

The Darren Shan movie is due out later this year too, it's basically the 14 year old boy's equivalent of Twilight..

But really, don't bother watching it.

In other news, was it Stephen King, that compared twilight to Harry Potter and noted, that as opposed to Rowling, twilight's author can't write :P

Probably. Lucky you, it made many many people feel pity for the droves and droves of boyfriends dragged to a mediocore vampire movie by their girlfriends. You can feel the pain of the boyfriends; it wasn't a nice feeling. :uhm:

I actually thought the movie was pretty good :lookaround:

...or at least it was a lot better than I expected it to be.

I really am disgusted by this new trend of "romantic teenage angsty vampires." Give me Bram Stokers Dracula any day. I also thought the Van Helsing depiction of Dracula (and vampires in general) was simply amazing. Far better than the Twilight series. And does anybody else get the feeling that the author is really just a deviantart Fanfic writer?

What is this Twilight you speak of (repressed it from memory)? Seriously though i hate it. Too much hype over something so........ ugh....... romantic? Even worse every time a book talk in my english class comes around now i duck for cover. theres atleast 1 book talk on each twilight series book every time people have to do book talks. If i like it or not im going to know every accursed part of the plot by the end of it.
