These days any company can make a movie with CGI and there is a crazy amount in theatres every year. So in all the bad and so-so ones what are some really good movies, your favorites? Sorry if there is already a thread like this :uhm: I like the first hour of king kong really well, I love the depression era recreation of new york and right when they get on the island, after that it is pretty diappointing. Also war movies almost any I saw one from New Zealand called Chunuk Bair (hope I spelled it right)

There are threads about favourite movies, they're just old. However, with your sig, I'm, not all too bothered about your opinion, but this isn't Melee, so I'll be nice and say that movies bore the crap out of me and if I had to say my favourite, it'd probably be Aliens.

hmmm, i'd have to disagree with you on King Kong, I thought the opposite, for a blockbuster, it took a long while to get to the meat of the action, and the first hour could have been cut dramatically.

The moment for me that made that film worth watching was how the relationship built up between the giant simian and his femme fatale. It was one of the most touching moments in recent cinema that I saw.

My personal favourite is Battle Royale, It's very violent, very quirky, very thought provoking and very japanese.

Sure, most would criticise it's a proposterous idea, and it is, but it's the sub layers of the story and the character relationships that really make the film what it is. It's one of and still is my favourite films of my teenage years.

I was going to mention three movies. Battle Royale, Fight Club and Sin City. All of which are marvelous, and, well, I can't really say much else. They are so different from one another (although they all have something to do with violence). Fight Club is a brilliant psychologically stimulating thriller that's rather unpredictable. Sin City has the typical supernatural "hero", however most heroes are also badguys who "saves the day" for the wrong reasons (or so), but, basically, a really great film for those who don't mind the noir-colors or nigh-invincible heroes.

Without A Doubt Naploeon Dynamite! 2Nd would have to be either Nightmare on Elm street part 6 or Aliens.
