I choose Shrek

As a father of two young children (8 & 2), I think we own just about every CG animated movie there is. Toy Story, Shrek, A Bug's Life, Over the Hedge... you name it, we've probably got it somewhere (no doubt smeared with baby fingerprints).

I just got Open Season the other day, and after seeing it 3 times (yay for having kids), I've come to the conclusion that it sucks. Lots of amazing visuals, very little as far as storyline. It made me appreciate how good all the Pixar movies are and most of the DreamWorks movies.

It got me wondering what the best one out there is. I'd have to vote for Shrek, but it's probably due to it being a bit more adult oriented. The Incredibles would be my next favorite.

btw - Too many options for a poll...

From more of an adult perspective i would say FFVII AC or FF The spirits within.

Shrek 1 and 2 were good laughs though.

Visually, FF AC was amazing, but the best all around would have to be Shrek... descent story line, excellent voice acting, funny jokes, and visually very good as well...

Shrek, easily. Those guys at Pixar made a pretty good hit, with characters, plotline, and soundtrack. And enough adult humor to get a chuckle out of older viewers without younger viewers understanding the smutty side. That counts for brilliance in my book.

Shrek was actually made by dreamworks - But its a great film all the same.

I'd have to say Shrek 1 & 2 were the best Dreamworks CG films

As for the best Pixar CG films.... I'd say Toy Story 2 and The Incredibles. Monsters Inc. was a pretty good laugh, too.

Shrek of course... it took them five years to make. I pay my respects to them. :nodding:

A few years ago, it was still special and they cared more about the plot, instead of having big-time actors voice-acting. Too bad.

I'm gonna go with The Incredibles, best one ever made. Finding Nemo and Shrek on a close second.

Yeah, I think Dreamworks pretty much messed up the animation-business; they were the ones who pumped out that many animation movies that made the movies go 'normal'. The Shrek films were their best, but those might have been a lucky hit. We might see as nr.3 is on our way.
