I know that this is a popular topic here, but I haven't seen a thread on it for quite some time.

When I say greatest, I mean the show that has had the greatest impact on your life, and on those who watched it. So, as great as 24 is, I don't think that is is qualified to be the winner of this discousion.

My 1st place vote goes for M*A*S*H. No questions about it for me. A very original idea, with some terrific and incredibly memorable charectors. It gave people a lot of joy in a time when the rest of the world wasn't offering too much.

My Runner up Vote would have to go to Law and Order (the original series). The type of show that has legs of its own, and dosen't depend on one charector/actor to carry its sucess. It has provided a number of eye opening and controversial eppisodes that ask some serious questions about the American legal system.

Supernatural is a show abut two sons who hunt and destroy creatures of evil. The first season showed their search for their father, the second started 2 weeks ago and has yet to develop a storyline.

it's on the CW at 9:00pm pacific time.

The A-Team. Very entaining, original idea. The characters were awesome, very . . . unique personalities. Nothing like 4-6 Minutes of Mr. T (AKA B.A. Baracus) using one of those Smelters, along with hitting large Pieces of Metal with a hammer, only to come rolling out with something that resembles a tank, and then starts blowing shit up. Did you ever notice there are no fatalities on that show? The Criminal Overmind's Random Goons have been shot at, blown up, flipped over, bashed, beaten, and so on, they all crawl out of the wreckage and dust themselves off, like nothing ever happend to them. Then there's Murdock, a Crazy bastard who adds a bit of comic relief to show, along with a bit of insanity. Hannibal is always cool, clever, and collected in bad situations, even if he's got a Gun pointed to his head. He simply grins, with that cigar hanging out of his mouth, never actually smoking it, it looks like he's chewing it or something, as I said, even with a gun pointed to his head, he still just smirks and adds a sarcastic comment. Finally, theirs Face, who, interestingly, never really did that much, actually, now that I think about it, he did. He, along with Hannibal, were like the public "face" (No pun intended) of the group, the charmer, and the guy that sprung the Suprise attacks on the random goons. He always showed up at the right time, often heavily armed. Overall, the A-Team is a very amusing show. It's also very comic, because of it's Blown-Up porportions. It's a prime example of a goofy 80s TV show.

Ooh, choices.

Battlestar Gallactica (The new one). The old one was cheesy I hate to say. The new one is way better and blows other shows out of the water. It's much different than the original as it involves a lot more drama, new concepts not shown in the original (human cylons for example) and some raunchy scenes. Also, it shows the nature of humanity poking out after a near genocide. I mean, the survivors continue with their lives and things go on (positive or negative) like nothing ever happened, all while the cylons are chasing them and trying to destroy them.

The new concept for the cylons also kicks butt.

I'm going to have to go with Corronation Street, becuase it simply won't die. All others have/will die. But this, this ungodly creation is more than 40 years old, and still going.

South Park. Recent seasons always seem to have a point, whether sarcastic or not, that makes me look at the matter they're focusing on a bit differently, so I'd have to say SP.
