That's a tough decision. I really like most of his books. I guess I'll go with The Stand.

Speaking of Stephen King, pick up Night Shift and Skeleton Crew if you can. They are filled with really good short stories, many of which have been made into movies.

I bought the following books. The Stand, From a Buick 8, Salems Lot, and The Dead Zone. I want to get reading them soon. I just have to finish Mein Kampf.

I personally enjoyed the Dark Tower books, but you are looking at a lot of books to read. The best individual are The Stand, It, and Needful Things. All really good books. It is probably the freakiest. Dark Tower is an excellent story.

The Stand is boring as Hell. I like Salem's Lot

I haven't read any of his books all the way through. As soon as I'm done with On the Road by Jack Karouac, and Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonigut I'm gonna start reading Skeleton Crew. A friend recommended The Stand a while ago but I never got around to it.

The Dark Tower books were completely unique & bizarre. Excellent for long flights.
