This is a funny one by Vin Diesel who wants the part of Lex "You know, if I ever got that part, then I'd rip it up", he shouts triumphantly, punching the air. "In fact, if I ever played Lex Luthor, the film would be called Lex Luthor - Lex Luthor and this crazy-ass Superman". Ok Vin we dont need a getto Lex. Next please. As for Superman well we are use to seeing Tom Welling play him in somewhat of a way in Smallville but, cant we get some guy off the streets with a big musculure body. Superman should be built like a train. I think he would be better off trying out for the next Bond movie.

Rofl, Vin as Lex Luthor would be *so* funny. I'd like to see that just for the hilarity value, intentional or not. As for the Kent himself though, that's a really tough question. Christopher Reeve was absolutely perfect for the part- he was an unknown at the time so came to the series without any previous films to tarnish the squeaky-clean Superman image, very tall and good-looking with no "edge" to him (which is why Jake Gyllenhaal or Colin Farrel couldn't do the role), and capable of doing The Nerd Thing. Personally I think it was a very good move to have Superman very tall instead of very muscly- makes him seem like a nice person, not some wrestler with x-ray vision. Tom Welling is the only known actor I can think of to fit the role (not exactly a stretch :P), but he's no Christopher Reeve. He doesn't seem like a particularly good actor most of the time on Smallville, but I'm fairly convinced it's the fault of the show's directors- in some episodes he really shines. Still, this is worrying: if the movie was directed by anyone less than Steven Spielberg, the quality of Tom's performance wouldn't be assured. Oh wait actually, thought of someone: 02.jpg04.jpg Randy Orton from the WWE :D (so much for not having him look like a wrestler :P). He fits the bill in quite a lot of aspects, although perhaps he's a little too muscly.
