"Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have purchased the rights from Activision Blizzard, Sierra Entertainment and Vivendi Games to make a movie based upon the wildly popular video game series. It will be released in theaters worldwide, in 2009." Warcraft (2011) Honestly, could they have picked a less story driven game?

If the movie will be anywhere close to the quality of the Warcraft 3 cutscenes then it is going to rock.

Would be a first for a video-game based movie though.

^Even so it's still a really pathetic fact that the film industry is running out of ideas to make films. First they were fine and all with James Bond. But then they started taking all the books and comics and making films upon them like Harry Potter and Spiderman. Now they are starting to make movies based upon video games. It's sad. Can't they come up with more original ideas.

Remember the Dungeons and Dragons movie? Yeah......

I would rather they start from Warcraft 3's campaign for a movie or something like that... WOW is really unappealing in alotta factors if made into a movie. Especially the community.

I'm guessing the title will be "The Forty-Year-Old Virgin 2".

I would agree with all those who think this is a really bad idea. I mean, World of Warcraft? Please!!! We're going to have a CGI story about some Orks raiding some Witches or something? Granted I don't know the ins and outs of the Warcraft World, but to make a movie on it... The only people I can see watching this are WoW players, most of which wont actually watch it because they'll be glued to the actual game throughout the showing of the film anyway.

It's live action, not CGI... And erm.... Why does it say "space war" on the imbd site under the Plot Keywords???
