Hey--I just wanted to know if there was some way to change the damage of some of the weapons.

Use the Elder scrolls construction set, you can get it at Elderscrolls.com.

Ahem....yes, I think I sort of caught that part. My point is, *how*? Is there a tutorial somewhere? Sorry, but the TES Construction Kit's interface doesn't appear to me as being incredibly intuitive.

First, load the Oblivion.esm file. (Or a mod if you editing their mod weapon damages), and go into Items->Weapons. There should be a list of different types of weapons when you open that tab. (Steel, Silver, etc...) Open the type of weapon you want to edit. Then you should have a list of weapons. If you are not familiar with EditorID's, you way want to filter them by clicking on the "name" tab. It is right from "EditorId."

Double click on the weapon you wish to edit. Voila! There are now many things you can edit. Damage, Speed, Enchantments, etc...

The easiest way to learn this stuff is by playing with the CS. I can now script edit with some ease!!!(Minor stuff)

Okay...I understand so far, but when I open up the file, the cells in the weapon directory are entirely empty!! In fact, very many of the categories--including the "Open File" window, where I'm supposed to open the Master File--are almost or completely deserted. Is there some special directory I need to run the program from, or am I doing something wrong here? How do I fix it?

Maybe its a problem with your CS. Try re-DL'ing it.

ooh. Did you go to the top left and use File->Data Files? Click on Data Files, check Oblivion.esm and it will load correctly. Just starting up the CS regardless of if you did it from an esp or esm file will not work.

Ahhh, thanks. My original must've been corrupted. I re-dl'ed it and now it runs fine. Thanks again!
