i got tiered of my hourse constintly dieing because i had to get off the horse to fight and i wanted to make a mounted combat mod so if anyone knows how to do something like that or if its already been done help me out:bows:
Mounted Combat would be impossible with the normal Oblivion Construction set, it requires additional tools like OBSE to get it to work. Plus there are already a few Mounted Combat mods out there, like Deadly Reflexes has Mounted Combat. You got this Idea from looking at the PotD today, didn't you? ;)
i have obse
Yes, but do you know how to script with it? If so, then you should be able to make your mounted combat mod.
whats script mean?
Yeah... Scripting... is a little difficult to explain; It's one of the harder aspects of Oblivion Modding, in my opinion... in a nut shell, it's the driving force behind a lot of the non-hard coded things in Oblivion. For instance, when you run into a trip wire in oblivion, and a pile of logs comes crashing down onto you, well, that's from scripting. The Script tells the game, that when the player comes into contact with the string, to break it, and trigger the logs to fall. Wayshines also use scripting, as do a lot of other objects; like when you click on a Wayshrine and it shoots a positive spell onto your character... also done by scripting. Not the best explanation, I know, but I'm not to sure on the terms. I know exactly what scripting is... just not how to properly explain it. Now, scripting can be limited in certain ways; which is where OBSE comes into play, the name stands for OBlivion Script Extender; which allows modders to do things that you couldn't normally do in Oblivion. Unfortunately, it's a little hard to learn... and time consuming to be sure; which is why I haven't learned it; I just don't have the time.

I'm surprised people don't know what scripting is . . when I first looked at my first script in Neverwinter Nights, I wasn't entirely sure what it was. Once I learned the term, I knew right away that wall of intimidating text was scripting.

Essentially, Yes. That's the same for me... only with Morrowind, instead of Neverwinter Nights.
