k i just got morrowind (soon getting Oblvion) coz my mates said they were good. i just discovered that there were mods for this game so i d/led some. i d/led some like: famer mod, a companion mod, and the morrowind comes alive mod. ok so i installed them all into their right folders in Data Files and then i clicked to play. i started a new game but everything is still the same. there are no extra ppl, no farming job and no companion with me. what am i doing rong??? is there a file i have to d/l before i install any mod?

BTW i dont have any of the expansion packs yet but i am buying them of a mate soon. (these mods dont require the expansion though)

sry for double post but i couldnt find this forums edit feature. ok so i got the two expansions for morrowind just then but when i try to install them they say that there is not enough room left were Morrowind is installed, even tho i have 69GB left on that Hard drive. need help on both now. thx.

(i might have to install the expansions manually if we cant get them to install)

wot u mean by that??? Data Files isnt in my start menu. i extracted all the stuff into the right folders and followed what the instructions said in the readme's. also i checked and these mods don't need the expansions (still cant get em going wtf).

on the start menu b4 u click start game and ur still on ur destop when the menu pops up, theres an option called Data Files. click that then click on the mods names u want to use. once u click them it should have a little check mark next to it.

oh yes i have found it now. TY for helping a newb like me.

do u know anything bout my problem with the expansions???

ok i think i know why i cant install the expansions. i got a no-cd patch for morrowind that i d/led and i read that i gotta revert back to the original exe. ill tell u if that fixes it. (Getting Oblivion tonite too:smokin:)

ok i got the expansions installed then i played the game and checked off the .esp thingys. when it started loading it came up with all these errors that, in the end, made the game crash. i look at the Warnings.txt in the morrowind directory and this is wot it said (says the same stuff even without mods):

Unknown SSCR_ID in ConstructObject. Unknown SSCR_ID in ConstructObject. Unknown SSCR_ID in ConstructObject. DataHandler: unrecognized form Look in the Warnings.txt file for more info. Chunk size 10 too big in chunk WEAT_ID in form REGN_ID. Max size is 8, data truncated to " ". Region 'Felsaad Coast Region' Weather Chances do not total 100 percent. Unknown SSCR_ID in ConstructObject. DataHandler: unrecognized form

when installing some of the mods i had to overwrite some of the original files. maybe this is the prob? wot u reckon

buying the new graphics card will be your best bet, i have had problems with many games and thought my card was good but than i installed marrowind and halo and both ran a bit choppy, if you can build a new pc i would recomend that, buying pre build is expensive bu you can upgrade/build a good gamer pc for about 1/8 of what a good alien wear pc costs but hay that just my opinion
