I just got the program a few days ago and I've been trying a few step by step tutorials on how to make your quests and what not. In doing so I've found that some files are missing such as characters, races, physical attributes, etc... So I can't modify characters or make new ones based off old ones. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

.... files missing? if u mean the models and stuff u'll need to get the Oblivion mod manager or some other program that lets you unpack the files from their .BSA format so u can edit them

i know this one good site that will help u out if making ur own armor or weapons is ur game: http://niftools.sourceforge.net the Oblivion section is at the bottom and provides links for extracting BSA's, importing meshes, making cut and paste armor, and editing in general

Well I got a mod manager, but I have no idea what I can do with it. I also tried a few downloads on that site you gave me and I still don't really know what to do. My construction set has very limited constructing capabilites. All I can really do is maybe make the most basic male character, bald at that (no hair options), of the vampire race. I can't really make quests. I can't really make armor or anything else without something to work off of. I did notice a bsa unpacker on that site, but it wouldn't work after I downloaded it.

ooooooooooo........... i see now. u need to open the .esm file, there should be an open file thingy in the upper left corner, then ull get a list of files, and u choose the Oblivion master file from the list (check the box) and hit ok, that will load all the stuff. the thingies i showed u will let u open the .bsa files (in the mod manager there will be a button called utilities, u want the .bsa unpacker, then u can open the resource files and get stuff u need, say the texture and model files for a sword, then u would use nifskope to edit the sword, changing the texture to a custom one you would make, or adding your own version and saving it as a unique, different one) i really should write like a tutorial on this for the forums

i didn't try it, but i looked it over and it looks like a basic item placement tutorial, with it telling you how to set up the variables for the quest, and adding scripts and dialogue to change the variables to move it along. u should probably go to the official oblivion construction set wiki, it gives much more informative and interesting tutorials here's your link: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page

that's exactly what it is, but when I go back to the guy after the retrieval he doesn't acknowledge the quest. I'll try those offical ones after this.

I've got a problem with modding too. I created a bow, I saved it and activated it at 'Data Files'. But when I launch oblivion, the bow I created isn't where it should be, at the place I dropped it. Can anybody tells me what I'm doing wrong?
