Some of you may have read my thread "http://forums.filefront.com/es-problems-errors-help/370293-getting-corrupted-save-after-3-game-days.html#post4442764" I fixed that by waiting in game for 4 game days, but then, one game day afterwards, the game shut off because of an "ActiveMovie Window". It's apparently an Oblivion application since it has the Oblivion logo by it. The only thing in that window has is a green screen. When I turn it off, my game freezes and I can look around in game but can't move, attack, or access my inventory. Everything else is just frozen in place. But the ActiveMovie Window still comes back up after a while. And if I try to play the game with it on, the game just keeps shutting off

I have no idea what this is, what it does, or what it's for, but I can't play Oblivion because of it. I think the three day save corruption thing and this problem may be related in some way. Someone please help.

just fuck it all, uninstall and reinstall oblivion, install FCOM helper so you don't have any mod problems, and hope it works.

Also remember to delete your Oblivion.ini in your 'my documents' folder.

BTW: uninstalling and reinstalling won't delete your saved games (back them up anyway), and won't delete your mods. If you have any graphics changing mods like motion blur or something, delete the shaders folder in your data folder and reinstall the after you patch oblivion.

Actually I just solved the problem. Sorta. For some reason now I can play Oblivion with that Activemovie window thing running in the backround, without exiting out if it. I thought that leaving it on would just shut my game off when I turned it back on from being minimized. That's what it did the first time. Now it doesn't do that anymore. The game will still shut off every 1-2 hours or so and minimize itself and another of those windows will come up, but I can still play Oblivion. It still locks up if I exit out of the window though.

I still would like to know wtf an "ActiveMovie Window" is.

Btw if I do have to do that thing you mentioned, would it get rid of my progress with mods in game? Like getting rid of all the OOO weapons and armor in the chest at my house?

Don't I just get the weirdest problems with my Oblivion? I mean seriously, ActiveMovie Window. W....T....F.....

as long as you have your save game and the mod it will save your progress.

I'm not sure what the "ActiveMovie" window you are talking about is... But every time I mention codecs around here someone comes along and starts yelling at me.

Try going into Start,Run. Type in "Msconfig" Go to Startup and Look for Anything Related to Codecs,or Windows Media Player or any other mediaplayers you use. Thanks-Vip.

Nope nothing like that running. Like I said, the Activemovie thing is an application for Oblivion because the Oblivion logo is by it. And it only comes on when I'm playing Oblivion, and shuts off when I shut Oblivion off.

megadace: But every time I mention codecs around here someone comes along and starts yelling at me.

lol why would that be? I guess I'll reinstall Oblivion at last resort. Knowing my luck something is probably going to happen to totally screw up my game if I reinstall it.

Something else.... I may know absolutely everything there is to know about Oblivion and all the other PC games I have, and maybe some general computer things, but I have only the smallest idea what a codec is, so....yeah....
