Sorry for the attempt at a funny title, just thought I would lighten up this dark thread and their evil problems lol. Anyway, so I have Oblivion Game of The Year edition. I put in the Cd... my computer beeps just 1 time. 1 beep and it automatically goes to the install wizard etc etc as if I pressed the install button. If I recall, there is a launcher that lets you choose things and such. No this does not happen for any of my other games, not on DVDs, not on anything else. Any ideas guys?

It looks like your Computer isn't set to have AutoRun; I'm not sure of your operation system, but if you have XP, just go to the 'My computer' root folder, and right click on your CD/DVD drive an set the AutoPlay features from there.

Auto-play I would think is enabled. All my other games and their auto play works... I looked around and I am very sure that auto play is enabled...

My PC specs are as follows... Also I went through the read-me for Oblivion and did a lot if everything that the read-me said might help for slowing down, errors, and other evil things...

Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Hard Drive: 79 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Sound Card: SigmaTel Audio Speakers/Headphones: Keyboard: USB Root Hub Mouse: USB Root Hub Mouse Surface: Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300)

I don't see what system specs have to do with this. Perhaps GotY edition just goes straight to the installer; even if the 'Launcher window' doesn't show up when you insert the Oblivion disk, it doesn't matter that much, because you can launch the Launcher via an icon in the Oblivion folder which you can link to. In other words, just proceed with the install, it should be fine.

Installing the game is not a problem. I can install it, use the construction set, make a rat named BoBo to be my pet with 10000000 strength and 90 speed no problem at all. The issue I am having is the beep it makes when I put the CD in. It doesn't do that with any other game, just Oblivion...

What's so bad about a beep? My computer used to do that and it wasn't ever a problem. If it's really a big deal, just call the Dell technical support, it's free.
