Ok my idiot dad deleted Oblivion, not uninstalled. He found the folder and just deleted it. He said it wouldn't let him uninstall for some reason. My question is, will all my daved files be lost?

Has he emptied the little bucket icon on your desktop (don't know how you call it in English...), If not there is a possibility that it's still in there...

He said the file was too big to be put in there...so i guess im screwed!
well first off, to whoever did that, it wasn't a good idea. NEVER delete an installed program then try and uninstall it. the uninstaller just won't work. as for your saved games, i think their gone forever, and u might get railed if u try and reinstall oblivion, when the comp still thinks it exists.
Yea, I doubt that a file that measures over 4 gig large would've been kept in your recycle bin unless you alotted that much space to be used for it. In short, I think it's gone for good, so the most you can do is to reinstall oblivion and start over, take the chance to use some mods and stuff.
In case of future incidents like this, I suggest you make a folder in your Documents folder or upload it to the internet to back up save files periodically so you won't lose too much.
Dammit! I'm really pissed! It took me almost a half a year just to get where Iam (only playing everyonce and awhile) I don't think ill replay it. Way to long of a game to do so. But I have an idea. I know theres a way for Windows XP to open up a calender and you can restart your computer the way it was on that day. Maybe if I did this would i get it back? (if possible) Thanks, ||G||
you mean system restore? no, that doesn't work, its only for windows system files and configurations, not bring back files you deleted
That actually dipends, did he remove the folder from program files or "My Documents." Unlike most games Bethesda opted to keep saved files and other information about the user etc away from the main game files.
You should still be able to find you saved games at the following: My Documents>My Games>Oblivion>Saves
You know, that's right! If your dad only deleted the directory under the Programs Folder, the Oblivion save folder is still probably in the My Games folder.
