Hey all, Been out of it for a while, and i'm trying to setup an XP save server running individual maps, rather than a campaign mode. I downloaded and correctly installed (according to Shrub anyway) the shrubmod to allow me to do this. I then started a dedicated server, and correctly configured the XP save variables. ( /g_xpsave (1) ) It appeared that the server was running fine, however, i could not log into it to play, i would get through the loading screen, the map would load, then i would get a message: "server disconnected for an unknown reason" Deciding that was a bummer, i tried a non-dedicated version of the same thing... to the same result... booted after the map loaded. I started wondering if Wolf worked at all... so i de-activated the shrub mod... and the server worked fine, dedicated or non-dedicated. So... this leaves me thinking the shrub mod is at fault... any ideas? (btw: running wolf ET: 1.02, and shrub 1.1, on a p4 2.4, Radeon 9800 XT, 1 gig ram, winXP pro)
You could get that if your machine is overloaded. What are the specs?
Try switching to the "FASTEST" video mode in the system menu. You could also try running it with PB off for one session and see if you can connect. If so, check to see if you are using more memory than you have available or if you are running apps that could be turned off while your server is up. OR just have someone else try to connect. You may not have enough machine to run server and client at the same time.
Well, I can run a dedicated and then login myself with the same machine with the Shrubmod deactivated... But if it makes any difference, i'm running a P4C o'clocked to 3.14... 1 gig of ram... radeon 9800XT video card... I was attempting to run this server in a college dorm setting... pretty good sized LAN... and had various people on the LAN attempt to connect... with the same result.. good connection... loaded... kicked... my roomate and I never have any trouble running a standard non-modded WolfET server... He also tried to run the mod on his computer... to no avail, same symptoms. Thanks for your advise though. Oh yeah... we always run PB free servers, since we're all friends and it's a lan server anyway... so that's not the problem
