whenever i join a server on ET, it would play fine for a while, then all of a sudden, my screen would look in a random direction and then i get a connection interrupted, but i can still talk, why does this keep happening? it gets really annoying when it happens like,10 times a map

This sounds like more of a problem with your Internet connection than a problem with your systems specs. Have you tried a different server? And made sure you don't have any other programs running that are trying to access the Internet while you are playing? Are other players having the same lag problem when you are?

I dont think its my connection because my ping range is always around 50 and the only time i lag is when my dad downloads too much movies. I have tried it on other servers and it does the same thing. Other people don't experience the problem I'm having, hell, none of em even heard of this happening =P. I dont think i have any programs running that access the internet..and if you say its because of my instant messengers, its not cuz it happens even if theyre off.

I used to have this problem on my slower machine when I had less memory in it. Expanding the memory and decreasing the .cfg settings resolved the problem...

Check you setup by running a virus checker and then make sure you are running a clean system by running adware by LavaSoft. Both of these are freeware:

I did that stuff already, I got rid of all the viruses and I have PLENTY of memory, so I decided to just reformat my whole comp tomorrow, I give up =P
