Ok... the issue i am having is one that makes me believe that this game is poorly coded.

what i am trying to do is make it so me and a friend can play on the same server and speak to one another with xfire (would use teamspeak dont feel like running a server for it) now when i run the game by its self, i can run the game max settings and all which does not suprise me... but when i attempt to run xfire or even a webbrowser it becomes ungodfully laggy in sound and display... but this is only if i have a second window or app in the background... so i can have xfire running... but if i have a chat window up it begins to become very unresponsive... even with ie or firefox in the background... now the reason this confuses me is my computer specs blow this game out of the water...

I custom built my computer myself to make sure i would be able to play just about any game i wanted to at the time with no issues

the specs are

Asus p5b Ai lifestyle overclocker board dual core (930) pentium d 3.0 ghz cpu 1g ddr 2 667mhz ram nvidia 7900 gs 256mb ddr3 gfx card

i am srry but this should be no issue for me... when my freind with a 995mhz at 133mhz fsb and a ati 9550 on a agp slot dosent have this issue.. and he only has 512mb ram at pc133...

i know that its not a virus issue or anything... and i always keep my drivers up to date...

and the thing is i can play games like cs:s on max settings and hl2 or even black and white2... even bf2142 with xfire chats running...

if anyone has a clue as to what the issue could be please let me know... its that or i am removing the game from my computer... but i like playing the game... so i dont want to resort to that, but it seems that it was terribly coded... they did a good job in designing it... but past that... its a messy job...

That patch would most likely have fixed it. With a computer as good as yours, the main reason that pops into my head as to why that wouldn't work, is simply, the lack of a patch. Always the best idea to download the latest version/patch/whatever of any program or game after initial installation. :)
