I had fun with a variety of tactics in this video while attempting to see how the new AI I've been hearing about challenges you. Don't be fooled by the ease of which some of the stunts appear to be pulled off, as the harder ones took numerous tries to do no scratch.
For the most part however, the AI didn't get a chance to implement some of their new abilities like knocking over things to take cover behind as I set a goal of a fairly fast paced run and surprise attacking them seemed to work best, although it does take pretty good timing on Extreme.
I thoroughly enjoyed "playing catch" with the grenades and it's the first video I've actually done that in, you'll see what I mean when you watch it. There are huge sneak opportunities in this map, it could easily be done a minute or more faster. I couldn't resist hanging around and playing with the clones though.
The lighting, shadows, and mood of the this demo is right in step with the original release. I really love the new chaingun and ghostlike creatures, though I'm not sure yet what to call them. At first glance I thought they were the ones Rob Loftus was referring to as shadow creatures in his Gamespot interview.
At any rate the expansion is sure to please all those whom are FEAR fanatics. I can't wait to see what the Church and Catacombs levels will be like. Music is a song called Echelon, by 30 Seconds To Mars. Hope you enjoy watching it, this one came out pretty good I think.

Omg, what's this!?
Another great file by Omen!
Great stuff Omen, sure your right, F.E.A.R. fanatics will love it, i did, great demo, read a few moans here and there "too short, bit laggy, ghosts a bit tricky, etc etc...." some peeps are never happy. I think we are in for a great expansion. However once again great video dude, kinda puts my shallow attempt in the shade. http://files.filefront.com//;5508289;;/ Can i just verify that the new Lazer gun IS NOT to be found in the demo???? I couldn't find it. Regards LongMan.
Thanks guys, didn't know if some would like the music, one made a pretty cheezy comment about it. Like I always say though, they aren't music videos and you can't please everyone. I feel so lazy lately Jon, even with your busy schedule you get them up on FEARfiles.com before I can even think about submitting them.:bows:
I didn't see a laser weapon either, but have heard talk of it. Since this demo was shown a while ago at the stage show the laser weapon may not have been ready yet. Much of the time in making a demo is preparing it for release.
Been busy lately but did notice you put up a video too LM. I will definately check it out and give you my honest opinion as well as lending any advice you may be able to use on down the video making/editing road.
BTW LM I left a response on the video thread you bumped over at VU. Like I said I've not taken the time to check out the vid yet but I thought a few encouraging words meantime might help. GtS is definately a nutjob though! He can't even spell correctly when he insults someone.
Hey Omen... Are you planning on doing an Extreme-No-Damage run for the whole expansion because I would LOVE to see some of your videos in the locations of that game. Some of those locations are so large and open that I would see it nearly impossible to beat that on Extreme without getting shot!

Yeah, I heard the maps are pretty wide open, but I'm not liking what I'm hearing about it being a very short expansion. Some are actually saying it's not much longer than HL2 Episode1.
It's all a bit premature to say what I'll be able to do with it no scratch wise as I've yet to even buy it. There are several levels of the original game I've yet to make videos of, but there's only one now that I'm still struggling to do no scratch, being Ground Zero where Alma likes to try and kill you. To be honest though I've only done a few runs through the game since buying it, so I've not explored all the possibilities yet.
Right now I'm excited that I got my priviledges restored with Game Cam after being left with a refund and forum ban and no option to upgrade for months (a beef over bugs not being fixed). They granted me a new registration code and the new version can even record in widescreen. If I can get FEAR to play on my 26" HDTV I may make my next video in widescreen format.
Thanks for taking time to watch the video btw, in case you haven't seen the others, here are all my FEAR videos: http://hosted.filefront.com/FragManiac/1521266
They're basically all full level videos of FEAR execpt for the EP demo and Another Day at the Office, which is my 23 minute mp montage submission for the Fileplanet FEAR map, movie & mod contest.
