has anythging really changed! holy! 1.05 better have more than 1 things changed!
apparently fear 1.05 patch is going to have to new multiplayer modes!!! how exciting :D lol i hope it has an online singleplayer game type cuz that would be fun cuz fear can get a little hard [ive clocked it once on easy and have worked my way up to hard and bullets kill you in like.... well when they hit you, you die] and it would be fun to play 2 player.
that would be really really fun...but i highly dought that will happen, thats a little hard for just a patch so its pretty much downloading a half of a big game:(

||G||, Knippschild; I think what you mean, Knipps, is a modification of some sort. Boiling down to its core function, F.E.A.R. is an FPS with multiplayer components, but I think you mean like Sven CO-OP for HL2 and a similar co-op for Doom 3, both of them being mods but not necessarily produced by Valve or Id Games, respectively. ||G||, I recall you or another user raised the point of there being a distinct lack of mods for F.E.A.R., as opposed to Quake 4 which was released around the same time and has plenty of them so far. I agree with Knipps in saying that F.E.A.R. was a good game but the release date hampered what could have been a bigger 'Big Bang' for the game. Mind you, Vivendi has been very good about patches and their availability, not to mention SDKs (I'm teaching myself how to use Worldedit) that automatically detect and update older versions of them, instead of redogging everything (I recall, because the SDK involved taking apart the components of the monster Arch files to allow them to be used, that my first installation (SDK 1.03) of it took over an hour and a half) and saving a lot of time and bother. Take the example of Dawn of War, another game I'm fond of: the patching process for many users I've heard talk about on another forum, not to mention the thoroughly buggy Winter Assault, has been horrifyingly chock-full of problems for many users. With F.E.A.R. on the other hand, I've never heard anyone mention patching trouble outside of a damaged file (due to an incomplete transfer). Anyway, I'm getting off-topic. There really aren't a lot of modifications for F.E.A.R., and I've been keeping an ear to the cyberground on the hosted page as new ones filter down to us. I have yet to see a Co-operative mod (as was suggested by Killalink) but I expect it will come along sooner or later. -Worker. PS: Videoslave, thanks for the direct link to the patch. I already have it applied (got it via here on FF) but it never hurts to make a good link stand out. Tribes 2 I thought had no support back in September when I installed it, and here years after its release you can still download pretty much any of its patches via Sierra's FTP site.
i wonder whats the shortest post you've ever posted:uhoh::p lol jk:giggle:

||G||; Not a problem. :) Yeah, I know my posts are usually pretty long; I know it's bugged people in the past (I don't mean you, ||G||; you've been very considerate towards me, and most of the people here have been cool about it too), but when I get into technical details on a game I really like... well, I tend to go into 'shop talk' mode, so to speak. I really enjoy being able to discuss multiple points and unfortunately, that usually ends up with me having a 15-line post. ^_^; Anyway, I think it was you who mentioned Sven Co-Op; d'led it about a week ago and I _think_ it's installed...gimme a sec..yup, just checked my Steam list and it's installed. Back on topic, I really have a thorough blast playing F.E.A.R. in single player (haven't tried the MP, and I'm pretty sure I'd get my butt handed to me), and the idea of going through the game or portions of it with a crew of real players is something I'd definitely look forward to. :) -Worker.
