Admittedly not the best thing to post in the forums of the game I am bashing, but I hope others agree with me. I played FEAR sp demo and FEAR closed mp beta and now a little FEAR mp demo [not that MP matters at all in regards to this post, just to show you all I'm involved] and from the SP version, I liked it a lot but I don't think I'll buy it for one reason. Your comp can't handle it? No. Far from that. I'm not going to buy it because the game is one firefight, rest, more ammo, see little freaky [not at all scary unless you're 10 years old] girl, more firefight, get more ammo, repeat. And that's all I see in the game. I mean, you're in an apartment/skyscraper. One building. You're a one man army. Some weapons, kinda doomy with the rocketlauncher and nailgun, some slowmo [really fun for the first 5 times, then really lame.] and lots of sparks when you shoot. Now I suppose all ppl who visit these forums, that combination is made in heaven but for me it's not good enough. I have much higher expectations of a game if I'm gonna shell out $50 for it, $60 for the DVD version, and maybe even a small system upgrade. Seriously, the game is just that: shoot, slomo maybe, reload, tromp around, shoot, see girl and maybe a cliched bloody ceiling, shoot, tromp around, shoot, etc. Repeat until you realize the game is crap. Doctor's orders. Yeah, Captain Amerika is hard on stuff he doesn't like. Who is buying this game?!! This is most likely inviting flames and no rep points, but I don't think I'm alone in my viewpoint, and I also think it needs saying.

Congrats, you have figured out the entire story and gameplay from half a level SP demo
Im not getting it because my comp cant handle it that well, maybe after some upgrades........but im not going to blow the entire game, because of 10 minutes of a SP demo

You can't base a game purely on it's demo :ditto:
I don't spend enough time here

I never understood the hype about HL2. I personally like the demo a lot and hopefully the game will live up to it. You do make some valid points though.
If the game is anything more than intense firesfights off and on, I'd pay you $100 dollars. Yes, I can judge from the demo. It has shown me or hinted at nothing more. Some weak plot and some possessed child crap, but nothing more.
I didn't make it!
Well Considering the facts, that the basic First Person Shooter since Castlewolfenstine and Doom have always been Run shoot reload and repeat. The basics of an FPS have always been like that, and theres only so much you can experiment with. Previous gameing companys have tried fuseing the RTS and RPG elements into FPS's such as planetside, Savage, ect. As the gameing industry evolves, ive noticed that everyone is starting to mix a sort of suspense/horrer into the FPS genre (HL2, Condemned Criminal origins, Doom3, and now F.E.A.R). But yes, i do agree that FPS's nowadays are becoming too ordinary and played out. Storylines just seem to be mimic'd by past movies and video games that were influenced. But you can never judge a book by its cover...Like the other guys here, the demo is nothing compared to the full version of the game. Also, Fear already shows sign of originality when it comes down to its features. Such as melee (kicks) and bullet time...Not to mention that the jupiter engine is by far the best ive witnessed yet. My 2 cents...

It is interesting that you frequent a forum of a game you think sucks and have no intention of buying. Everyone has a right to their opinion, I liked the demo, but I didn't like the mp very much myself. But you seem to be looking for someone to flame you or something. It also funny that you think your opinion holds some bearing with the people here. You don't like the game based on a very short demo. And I can understand that, the demo is supposed to represent what game is generally about. I think a game like the sims is silly, maybe I should go to a sims forum and tell them how much I disklike that game. But why would I do that? But seriously, why are you always coming to this forum? And why are you refering to yourself in third person.
Who says I think these forums suck? I don't! I think they're top next to a few others when it comes to specific topics. I care about others opinions! When did I tell you/someone to stuff it? Don't read too much into it. Yes, it is my opinion. That goes w/o saying I think. I'm talking about what I think the game will be like and reading what others think about what I'm saying. This is helpful to me to decide if I like the game or not [and may eventually buy it]. I thought that was obvious. Anyways, Captain Amerika likes FF. lol.

Noone said that you told anyone to stuff it or that you said you didn't like these forums. They are just commenting on the fact that you come to this particular game forum and post quite regularly while having no intention of owning the game. As for your "review", it is based on 10-15 minutes of gameplay from a level that isn't even in the final game. It has been said that the game gets a little repetitive, but I play games in short bursts anyway, so that won't affect me. The settings only change a little and the skyscraper is a bit generic but I think that the horror element and the plot, if a little basic, should hold this together to be a nice FPS. Definitely better than Doom 3 methinks.

Just so everyone knows, the SP demo of FEAR isn't a level from the actual game, but it's actually a few levels from the beginning spliced together...or so says GameSpot, and it doesn't look the way that they say it ^_^"
