Well I didn't like Doom 3 for what you mentioned, if you don't like firefight games like that then don't get it. But the reason why I will buy this game is because the story seems interesting, and the setting seems to change often, it is not all in that apartment complex. Also Doom 3 employed cheap cheezy scares while this is more of like "The Ring" type scares. Ofcourse there will be cheap thrills but if they aren't overdone like they were in Doom 3. Doom 3 was so incredibly repetitive I could just predict when the next attempted scare would be, the game scared me like first 2 hours then it was just a chore to complete it. This game just seems faster, fresher, and when thats all done it has the multiplayer to move onto. This game is #2 on my list however on what I want, S.T.A.L.K.E.R is on my lists but I'm getting this till then.

KnippschildYou can't base a game purely on it's demo :ditto:

I was a little dissapointed by the demo, though. It was a lot more simple then I thought the game would be (yes, keeping in mind that it's a demo). FEAR seems like an ok game, but I think I'll wait for Oblivion, or STALKER, or AoE 3, or CoD 2.

would be great if the game had more squad based action, instead of a one man bullet time army. You would hear comments from your team mates during the scary scenes-that would be awesome.

Hey guys, I have just beaten FEAR in 2 days, and although it is kinda short, the game lives up to many people's expectations. I got to know all the enemies and weapons, the AI is simply brilliant, the game uses something different from waypoints, and there is a good storyline and impressive mapping later on that keep the game going. Everything you said is disproved Cap, as you do get driven and choppered to a few locations. The stealth and melee elements are amazing, and slomo becomes more powerful over time, to be used against more powerful enemies. The weapons are interesting and innovative, no other game except hl2 leaves enemies pinned to walls with nails throught their heads, and I thought hl2 was short as well, took me 3 days. And you can never compare to the battle cannon or the particle weapon.

I wasnt very satisfied with this gameplay, also, many say this is a complex engine with a lot of technology involved, but i found it to be pretty limited, as i said in some other post, its like Chronicles of Riddick EFFB with more weapons, a clone with a different story and less melee attacks. For quality, replay value and great MP, i have to stick with hl2/source :D
