Great, downloading it now, FEAR needs more sp maps. Steve's Beneath mod is by far the best I've played so far, but I've only played one other. Most custom map content has been mp. Review to follow, I'll keep in mind that you're new to mapping, or at least FEAR mapping.
OK, finally got around to playing this after lots of video making, a fews days of sickness and some things at home to deal with. Sorry for the late reply. Pretty good stuff, loved your creative use of occult effects, phone messages that had to actually be used for a change, and interactive use of the voice character. The layout was also nice and creative and the intensity built up toward the end. If there's one thing I would suggest is having made the room with the clone machine a true trap having to take on all the Assassins before escaping it, maybe even in total darkness. That would have been a very unique and awesome boss fight but perhaps too challenging for some. Overall very good and you did well to make it lag free, this scores 8/10 from me. Thanks for your contribution, I'd love to see some more work from you.
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it! I waffled back and forth about the Clone trap. In my original version all 10 assasins spawned in groups of 2 every 30 secs. It was pretty rough and I didn't want people to get discouraged... But perhaps it's to easy now. I got some terrific input for this map and I'm sure it will make my next maps that much better. I finished the Clone Crisis game as well. One more thing, will the whole place blow up if you don't escape within 5 mins.?
Yes it does. The clonelab blows up in 4 parts: 5 mins, 2 mins, 1 min & 0 mins with small sections of the lab exploding during each and triggering mini player_hurts in those areas. The last explosion occurs at 0 minutes and it triggers a player_hurt which kills everyone in the level. I wanted there to be a consequences for moving too slowly as well as something to see should you for some reason decide to just stay in the lab. I actually quite pleased with my failure sequence. (Slowmo - Screen goes dark - screen shakes - player catches on fire - jane says "I don't think he made it..." - fade to black - end mission ) Thanks for all of your positive comments! Cheers, J.Sera
