this thread might have already been started, but i hope not. I was just wondering if you could post your computer specs, and what settings you play at for your graphics card and CPU settings. Me: amd athlon 3200+ 1gig of XMS ram nvidia 6800gs 80gig hard drive 450w PSU i play my CPU at medium and my graphics at high and i get 60fps average. 30 min and 130 max. im just wondering for comparison reasons.
System Spec P4 Northwood 3.0G MSI 865 Neo2-PE MB 1GB OCZ Platinum low latency RAM (2, 3, 2, 5 timings) Gigabyte X800XT-PE WD Raptor 74G 10,000RPM (size of HD tells us nothing performance wise) Antec Truepower 550 watt
I use the High setting for computer, and graphics at these custom settings:
Effects: all at Max
Lowered Settings Volumetric Lights............Off Shadow Detail................Min Soft Shadows................Off Texture Filtering.............Trilinear Texture Resolution...........Med Shaders.........................Med Pixel Doubling..................Off DX8 Shaders...................Off V Sync..........................Off
Raised Settings FSAA.............................2x
...Everything else at Max.
Test Results: Min FPS...34 Ave FPS...62 Max FPS...150
Frames below 25...0% Frames 25-40.......15% Frames above 40...85%
Most of the lowered settings were recomendations from Vivendi Universal for ATI cards with stuttering problems. Combining them with some of my own changes made the game run much more smoothly with minimal loss in video quality, in fact it's barely detectable. As an added bonus, the lowered settings allow the 2x AA boost, with which the X800XT pretty much eliminates jagged lines, while still maintaining very good FPS.
When recording F.E.A.R with Game Cam, I turn V Sync on, as Game Cam is designed to work smoother and faster with it on.
It's important to note the other test results (frame %), as it's a good indicator of whether your system is producing any laggy frames.

All you need do is click on Test Settings in the Options menu of the game to run the demo clip which gives complete performance specs at the end. It's intent is to help you compare the resulting performance difference of your setting changes.
HP ProLiant BL20p G3, Intel DUAL Xeon Processor, 3.60 GHz, 2MB, 2GB, 2P Blade Server, with ATI radeon 9550. scsi/ 13000rpm drive 100 gig/ 4024 ram

I technically can't play it yet. As of I have no CD. Although if anyone wants to donate? ;) I will get the CD if a particular party I work for gets their act together in the PR department, but I can't go into details.. i'll get sued.
I didn't make it!
Just built this rig a month ago - Athlon 3500+ ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe XFX 7800 GT OC Corsair 1GB PC3200 CL2 WD Raptor 74GB 10,000 4.5 seek Antec TruePower 550W I average around 52 fps and run at 1024x768 with mainly medium settings. I also game via WIFI due to my location in the mountains and have not dealt much with latency issues, which is a bit surprising.
3.0GHz P4 Proccessor 2GB 400Mhz Ram X800 XT AGP 256MB vid card 200GB+80GB hardrive at 7,200RPM Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound card 550W PSU Dell mother board :(
