well i thought id be able to run F.E.A.R. ok but my frame rate is so gawd awful that i cant play. Windows XP Home, nVidia GeForce 5200 128.00 MB, Pentium 4 2.40 GHz, 768 MB of RAM. Do i need a system upgrade to play this game? if anyone can help id be much obliged. :cya:
Yes I would say that you would definitely need to upgrade. The FX5200 is about as much use as a helicopter ejector seat, bin it and get at least a 9800pro I would say. The system requirements say a 9600 but I have one and it struggles a little so I say go for at least a 9800. Also get yourself 256mb more ram, that would help. And try to upgrade your processor in the future to something about 3ghz, but leave that for a while so you can save up.
true my old pc was an amd xp 2200+,512m,9600xt 128mb and on medium settings i got (if i remember correctly)15fps-25fps even lower still the games was awesome.
aight thnx alot mayne. im on a tight budget but ill try to get that 9800.
I have the 9800Pro with P4 2.52Ghz and it runs about 30-40 and sometimes 15-20 (with heavy firefights) at about medium settings with 1280x960. The price for the X800 significantly dropped so you can pick one up for about 199.99!
well i found a Radeon 9800 Pro video card for about 137.00. so im prolly gonna get that. do I even need a new graphics card? I think the nVidia GeForce FX 5200 is underrated lol. I can see the visuals in F.E.A.R. just fine i just have a crappy frame rate.
well i found a Viking 256 MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory. would this help me? im bout to get it since its only like 20 bux with a 10 dollar mail in rebate.
That's the thing, no amount of tweaking is going to bring that card's fps out of the deadzone.
I didn't make it!
erm ive got 2.8ghz processor and a geforce fx 5200 and 512 mb ram im gettin a geforce 6800GT 256mb and i was wonderin wether ne1s got that card and wether it is ne gd?? :0wned: also how much would it cost for 512 mb ram now a days?? oh yea the 6800gt is costin me £147
That's a very good deal on the 6800gt mate, you're doing well there. It's a good card and should serve you well for a while. As for the ram you can get a decent stick for about 60-70 quid.
