Hey, does anyone know when or if the 64 bit version of Far Cry will be coming out? Are they still working on it?

Yeah, I found that it said on the AMD site that 64bit demos and updates will be out soon, including for Far Cry.

Does anyone out there own a 64bit system yet? Did you install the 64bit WIN XP beta? How is it working and how are the 64bit drivers doing for your sound and video?

I had Windows XP 64 for a while on my system. The Creative driver pissed me off though because it was a "Trial" until they release the full patch. So I went back to normal XP after it expired. The drivers for Nvidia cards was great. And the Creative one was to until it expired.

Hey, if you're only running 32bit WINXP then nothing you are doing right now is using 64 bits. You have to be running the 64 bit XP and the 64 bit beta drivers most companies are putting out (like for your sound and video cards). However, since there are no 64bit applications or games out yet, it doesn't matter....YET. When the 64bit games start coming out you WILL have to switch your OS and drivers to their 64bit versions in order to actually be computing at 64bit. Just wondering if you know this or not...

Yes. I have Windows xp 64 version loaded. I also received the 64bit version of Farcry when I ordered a processor and memory from Mwave. The game plays great. I looked for all the 64 bit drivers for Win xp. So far, I have not had a problem, except for a co-op download. Currently, I am looking for info on how to create a co-op map/mod.

Hey The_Postman

So are you saying when we are in the future, when we have 64 bits and maybe 128 bits, we still need the old 32 bit computers to play old games that were designed for the 32 bits. Or are you just saying that the 64 bit Far Cry game won't work on the 32 bit running pc.
