You know Farcry started out as a tech demo for a game set in the jurassic era [dinosaurs], and then it became it's own game! And now from that success comes Crysis. I think that's just amazing.

Nice piece of information Capt...
I mean like it was a pretty demo on a tropical island and I figure they said 'let's make a game out of this,' and they worked on it and the Farcry was released. And from that success they've moved on to console iterations of it, and are now doing a next-gen PC title, Crysis. Isn't that fantastic?
C&C was the idea here, I wasn't just making a statement. :)
What about the PC expansion of Far Cry Ubi was going to put out, is that project no longer going to be made, that's the rumor I'm hearing anyway?
Yeah I heard that too :(. I don't know. If I was Crytek and then Exp Pack was being worked on, I'd put out a little information about it besides my yearly financial report that has a vague hint about a FC Exp Pack.
And also Crysis is supposed to come out in Easter 07. Get that Exp Pack out soon to make money because a lot more ppl are going to buy Crysis then the Exp Pack [IMO]. I suppose Crysis takes up a lot of their time, so they dropped the Exp Pack, IDK.
Actually I didn't think Crytek were the ones working on the PC expansion, just Ubi. The reason I asked if there was still going to be an expansion is that one of the mods over at the VU FEAR forum actually said he had put a preorder on it and was worried when I told him the rumors were that it wasn't going to be made. I had no idea they were taking any preorders on it.
When people take pre-orders on games that aren't even officially announced, like when ppl did it on Duke Nukem Forever and Team Fortress 2 back when the companies said the games would be out soon, those people got screwed. Unless the game has achieved its 'gold' status [done but not in production], it's generally a bad idea to pre-order.
I have as much information about the Exp Pack as the next guy, but I read in a Crysis article over at InCrysis that they've dropped the pack to work on Crysis. Oh well.

Yet another reason NOT to preorder, that kind of business, if you can call it that, is inexcusable.
So then, Crytek WERE the ones originally working on the PC expansion? Man that would have been nice to see them finish it, oh well.:(

The drop is actually a good thing. I think the style of Farcry was good but I wanted a island to explore like grand theft auto. Not level based crap.
