So I think we're like teetering on the edge of photorealism.

WOW, those really are like snapshots. That game's gonna have you guys goin' as crazy at mappin' as we'll be at capturing video.

Have you heard yet how good the editor for it will be compared to Sandbox or if it will be released when the game is?

Well, the community got to ask questions of Crytek about Sandbox 2.0 and the results were interesting and hopeful. The Sandbox is supposed to come out at the same time as the game [packaged together]. I do not know the stasis of the SDK, but I bet they're working on it.

The only thing to me that makes me see they're game shots is the lighting. It's all wrong, like the leaves on the plants are shiny. They'd only be shiny if they were wet and the light was fairly direct. But I think some of those SS are pre-rendered. A little, but not too much.

Here's a little diagram of what I'm talking about. clipboard01ci2.jpg BTW, lighting is the MAIN SNAFU in all video games that constantly shows you the devs don't know how to do lighting. I know it's one of those things that if you worked REALLY hard on it, it could be perfect, but I'm real anal about it. I know I'm playing a video game, but I don't need to be constantly reminded of it by bad lighting. [Not "bad," but it could be a lot better.]

Well this is just the first lineup of directx 10 games. Later in the future we are gonna see photo-realistic perfect looking games. Man I can't wait.

The  Sand box 2.0:eek: is exactly how I wanted it - just like the old one but with more objects, features and better graphics. I will enjoy creating larger and more graphically impresive avalanches than ever. + I hope those cars are drivable, but if there not there only a mod a way. The ability to fly choppers and planes may create more diverse missions but is putting cysis dangerously close to :bows: Operation Flashpoint 2 :bows: - which is coming out some time soon (its been 5yrs in the making!!!) aisetup_tokens.jpg
