I have been trying to use PakScape to make a .pak mod muting the combat_alone files in the voiceA-voiceD language files. I located all 180 files I wanted to mute and re-recorded them at extremely low volume to retain the exact file size. I tried a mute mod on another game and this method ended up being the only way I could get it to work. For some reason no matter how I try to record the original files I get a slightly different file size. I don't know if this is why it won't work or not, but I suspect it may be. Another thing that's weird is once I make the pak with PakScape my extractor that opens all the other pak files will not open the mod pak. I have to open it with PakScape. The shell folders are organized correctly as Language\voicepacks\voiceA-D, and I named the mod z_muted_mercs.pak and put it in the FCData directory. I tried unchecking the read only box on the mod pak file properties too, still no luck. I also tried putting the text file that accompanies each combat_alone sound file in the mod but that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. I can't ask at Crymod because for some reason their login isn't working. It says thanks for logging in but doesn't show me as logged in.
