Any mod out that does this or removes them entirely from the game just replaces them with mercs? I know it sounds like a silly request, but it's something I'd like.
If it's simple enough to adjust there stats or remove them myself a simple tutorial would be enough.
Thanks a lot for the detals.
There is no such mod in existence. Why do you want one?
Making the trigens easier to kill is very straightforward. Just edit some health properties for them in the enemies LUA file. This is just a simple script change, so just remember to back up your LUA file that you had edited.
Hey theres a mod called the Raigun mod http://farcry.filefront.com/file/Rail_Gun_Mod;28068 its said to make them weaker if that dosn't work try the ultimate mod thats just an update of the Railgun mod you need patch 1.32or1.3 (i forget) for the ultimate though plus extra damage added to the shotgun you should be able to blow them back to hell.
TK423;3410108How does one go about editing the LUA file?
By opening it up with an editor like Notepad.
The LUA file tells all complex entities like Characters/Weapons/Enemies/etc how to act and other things like character health, weapon accuracy, weapon clip sizes, etc. The LUA file is really the directions for how most things in the game behave. If you're a mapper, you'll know that the LUA is critical to creating a successful singleplayer map; it tells your compass where to point, what HUD messages to display, etc.
SP_Subterfuge, a somewhat recently released singleplayer map had a little weapon script inside, turning a normal MP5 into a super-MP5 by changing properties like 'Distance Bullet Travels,' 'Rate of Fire' and 'Damage Values.' If you spend some time working with the LUAs you can make some interesting mods, like the Ultimate Mod was mostly LUA script changes.
Where exactly is the LUA that affects creatures and mercs? And weapons? Or are they merged?
Either way, what directory is it located in?
After messing with some entity LUAs I found some for the mutants. How do you affect their overall hp?
If you found the right LUA scroll around to find lines about health points.
I don't have FC installed on my laptop here [I only go home on the weekends to work on my FC stuff....its monday now, so I'm no good to you] so I don't know the EXACT line, but it's not HARD to find.
I would suggest you visit this site as well, it's a much more developed FC community.......CRYMOD.com
