This is a very common error in the sandbox. The error is no to do with your RAM it happens anyway so don't worry about that. It mainly happens when something happens when your editing a level that it doesn't like. theese things include too many physics calculations (too many physicalized objects) and things like reflections and lighting problems. If this is happening during level creation then when you reload the cryengine and load your level it does it again the only way to acces the level is by deleting the .bak file in your levels folder (c:\programfiles\ubisoft\farcry\levels\yourlevel\yourlevel.bak)
When you get on it won't be pretty. It will have meesed the veiws up but by going on the map you can edit the level from there and remove offending objects (usually mirrors and physicalized things).
hope this helps!
I also have that error but it happens right wen i start the program not wen im loadin/etc a map
raybearmass? is wat Genome_66 told u work? If not and u hav the same type of problem as me i may hav a soloution (also it has to be from direct2drive or i dont kno if this thing will help). I looked around on some forums and found somthin that looked like it can fix the problem BUT i havnt tried it out yet and i wont be able to try for a bit cause im busy. But if i does work ill tell u wat to do. (Note: this only applies if the editor still doesnt work)
If you're going to answer a question, then please ANSWER it...don't say you may have a solution and not say what it IS!!!! Genome's answer didn't help, he clearly didn't read the original QUESTION..I said I COULDN'T RUN IT...I didn't say it CRASHED....it won't START..it just freezes with that error when I try to start it up....Crytek won't help...then again, they've NEVER answered a question....it's too bad they won't support they're own programs. but I digress..if you found a POSSIBLE solution..then please say what it is..or where you FOUND it at least and I can go see....waiting for YOU to try it doesnt' help

(c:\programfiles\ubisoft\farcry\levels\yourlevel\y ourlevel.bak) ?????? THERE IS NO SUCH FILE AS "\yourlevel/y ourlevel.bak" and yes..I understand that "y ourlevel" is probably a typo besides...the editor doesn't START...it's not a problem while I'm editing a level..I SAID it won't start....how can I have a problem when editing a level if it crashes before it STARTS ??? beleive me...I apreciate the help and advice..but it doesn't help if you dont' actually read the QUESTION
Do you get the error immediately after you start the editor?
n88tr: yes he does, notice "This is what I get when I try to run the Sandbox editor" it implies that he opened it but immediately gets that error To everyone here: thanx for trying to help him. raybearmass: look, i know you are frustrated, but these people are trying to be helpful, and you seem to be flaming them. they are trying to answer your question from what they understood to be the question. they may have been confused after reading what you said not to say they didn't read it! WHY they didn't give you the info on what might work, is because it might NOT work and wanted to see if it worked after another person's suggestion worked, that way they wouldn't waste their time. i don't appreciate what you said and i don't expect them to have to undergo insults while trying to help you. In short, don't do it again, they are my friends and they don't deserve disrespect! Getting that out of the way, you left some important questions unanswered. did you patch the game? (if you don't patch the game and you have a later system the game might not work let alone the editor.) what are your system spex including your operating system? (if i have to ask that again i'll be homicidal) how did you obtain it? cd, dvd, or download, the downloadable version has some known problems with the editor, that is why Nortal asked. and i have seen that post on the forum, but it worx only if you have the downloadable version. did you lower the resolution to your system directly (not ingame)? try lowering the settings to low or medium while in the editor. what i mean by that is configure far cry to have less anisotropic filtering, a low shadow and light configuration and a lower model.
i think this, is the thread that nortal was thinkin of second from the bottom i believe. http://forums.filefront.com/farcry-problems-errors-help/333684-patch-problems.html
heh o right my bad. i forgot to post here that i got the solution............... well I POSTED THE SOLUTION (if its still here)(do posts get deleted?)
