HI, can someone help me? Far cry begins to start, and then dumps to the desktop, and displays a formal-looking error reading EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Attempt to read from address 0x00000000 The memory could not be "read" and then 2) function=0x3804A104 1) function=0x0 this is in a "call stack trace" box whatever that is

the patch most might help but was created to give better support for the newer generation of vid card, like the geforce 6800 and the ATI X800, but you might as well try anyways. I know the spec requirments say that the Geforce 4's are supported but the game was never tested on the MX series. Your card may be the reason for the troubles. the MX series are actually a lot weaker that other TI series Geforce 4 cards. you really need a new card.

Hi I have a new Dell 8400, 2,8 ghz, 1 gb ram, X800 XT graphics card. I can't start Far Cry, receive error message: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Attempt to read from address 0x00000000 The memory could not be "read" ( same as Mackadaddy) The graphics card in itself is not the reason for the problem, it's a question of game settings. Anyone got any conclusive and substantial advice to give?
